With the Driveclub launch, Destiny with the new events, and NBA 2K15 PSN is melting right now, the servers are super slow and friend requests take a lot of time to work.

Is everyone else having these problems??

Protip: accepting and sending friend requests via the PlayStation app is super easy and fast, and it actually works.

NBA 2k net code is ALWAYS shit, I wouldn't use that game as an example
 
I'm showing where I can purchase Driveclub on the web store, but the PS+ Edition is nowhere to be found. Also, the web store is running fine. Better than normal, actually. Is this the US PSN you're talking about?
 
Updating 2K15 now. Im getting my usual ~1MB a second download speed which is pretty much tops for my connection, so no. The store is slower though.
 
So I should buy Vib Ribbon and download it before PSN shits out completely? I can't imagine how much worse it will get when Driveclub PS+ edition is uploaded.

Isn't the PSN always struggling with something anyway? FL not loading, trophies, Dashboards not loading (pretty sure this is network related but IDK why)

But hey least it's free....
 
It would be nice if the concerted effort that lambasted MS for its crap X1 policies and forced it into reform could be used to whip Sony's now-required shithouse network into shape. It's somehow worse, in terms of consistency, than it ever used to be when it was all free. #FixPSN
 
What does Driveclub's, Destiny's and NBA's servers have to do with PSN???

FIFA15 works perfectly online, even indie game Pure Pool works great online.
 
Well, this is kind of rationalizing why Plus needs to be mandatory for online play like it or not: it's how they'll get the funding to upgrade servers and actually handle the traffic volume they have been and will be getting.

That, or ads all over the place. Though Microsoft did BOTH which was lame and it's not as if Sony doesn't dabble there.
 
This shit's gone on long enough and is absolutely insane that PSN isn't getting called out more on it.

$50 a year for this crap.

Messages don't load
Friends list stalls to load
Messages fail to send
Messages don't pop up when you send them

Absolute junk.

This 2.0 firmware update is supposed to bring new services, but I just want PSN to not give me so many nonsense issues.

He's not saying that NBA 2k15 online is suffering, he's saying the release would be one of the symptoms for PSN being slow

I've been saying it was pretty shit ever since the PS3 came out, and somehow it's still not been improved. Microsoft's experience with Live really shows, since Xbox Live itself has been around for nearly 12 years (next month it turns 12) while PSN as we know it has only been around for nearly 8 years. And almost no improvements have really been made on that front

IT has, for everything but driveclub PS+. Classic SCEA wonkiness™.

Vib Ribbon is on the store though, I have no idea why any of you are doing anything but buying that. At least us 'Mericans because EU has to wait.

They invested the best part of half a billion dollars on remote play technology, you'd think they'd have kept a bit behind for improving their existing servers.
