NICE.

This is something Shu or Sony execs have to be pressured on. This is not 2006 any more. We are tired of this BS. If people are paying to play online, put that money where it belongs and buy more damn servers.

Nobody buys servers anymore. It's the cloud! We need more clouds!

Wow. Buying things off the PSN store is taking forever on PS3.

Oh well... get what I (don't) pay for?
Still waiting for P4U2 Margret, Chen. :|

Everytime I come back to PSN, I'm reminded just how bad the service is and how bad I don't miss it when comparing to Steam. Not starting anything, just saying I don't pay anything for either but get higher quality service off the other platform. It's sad that PSN is nearly 8 years old and it hasn't improved at all.

They clearly seem to be giving it their all on the software front, MS updating the OS every month while they lag behind, even the Wii U has folders now, and a service that can't handle any big launches.

They're taking the piss out of us at this point. Can't accept friend requests. Can't view messages. Can't even load my friends list to invite them to a party/game.

My experience of PSN tonight:

- Played some Destiny with 2 friends, but after 50+ hours in 3 weeks (a lot for me at the rate I normally play) and with new games out, I didn't feel like playing Destiny.
- Booted up Alien. Got so far but couldn't progress as it didn't fully download earlier.
- Booted up Drive Club, but can't connect to the servers.
- Thought I'd check out the PvZ Garden Warfare stuff that landed while I was absorbed in Destiny last week. Couldn't connect with other players.
- Thought sod it and went back to Destiny for some Crucible. Couldn't connect.

Additional comment - The TV connection in my apartment block is down until Thursday so couldn't watch TV either.

Come to bed in a massive fucking huff.

I am glad for this thread, thought my PS4 was having some sort of slowdown breakdown. Takes me a minute to even see what friends are online.

Exactly why I went xbox one...say what you like about MS but gold has always been leagues ahead of psn when it comes to stability and reliability

I'm downloading the Demos of my PS+ games ahead of tomorrow's EU releases, its still taking forever. Spelunky is 125mb and its taken well over two hours which is very slow, to compare it to my normal service i downloaded Shadow of Mordor on Steam in an hour and its 33gb or so.

Just got home from work, and my friends list on PS4 is loading a little slow, but that's all I'm seeing that's weird right now. Central U.S.

Seems stable now. At least for me. So pack up your torches & forks and get them back out next week :P

Does this really happen every week? I just got a PS4 last week and was able to play Destiny fine (though I'm not sure how I was playing online without PS+). Haven't tried it today yet...

was a bit slow too a few hours ago now it's normal, Eastern U.S. I guess if a user always has this problem it's probably the location. My PSN downloads are much faster compared to LIVE service.

So fucked up today. Slow to do everything. Can barely see friends list, can't start party / invites take forever to send, can't play FIFA 15 for 10 minutes without getting disconnected (sometimes I don't know if this is EA or PSN...).

Happens too often, and no good excuse this time.

Can't wait for that Driveclub PS+ edition to show up on the EU store so I'll be able to play it on
Sunday hopefully
evening!

Well I guess Sony really never expected the huge rush on PS4 hardware. Of course the servers suffer under this.
That is no excuse. They build and then ship the hardware. That should give them plenty of time to add servers. And they should be able to add them fast by outsourcing to cloud computing providers these days.

I like to think of PSN's servers just being a couple of Dell rack servers and Sonicwalls crammed into a closet at a Mailboxes Etc. somewhere in Phoenix. It's the only explanation really.

I cant even log in all day. EU

Edit,
turns out i had to go to "settings>psn>sign-in" and agree to some terms of service bs... man that shit should come up auto when you log onto your account, or atleast a message prompt to let a person know to log in through the settings menu..

Agreed.

God knows how many years it will take Sony to actually put our PS+ dollars to use.
Instant Game Collection is the only reason I even put up with this.

Yeah, because you have direct first-hand knowledge that they haven't expanded? That it's not possible that with no changes the servers wouldn't work at all today?

Seriously people, Sony will never have Microsoft's muti-billion dollar server set up. If you are going to whine that your 50$/year doesn't add up to Sony running that, then give up and go back to Live, because you are destined to be whining about it all generation.
