Confirmed: Dark Souls PC to migrate from GFWL to Steam in Nov (Details in OP)

Regarding ladders, you should have just used dsfix to bind the option to switch between 30FPS and 60FPS to a key and hit it before sliding down a ladder.

i played with the DSfix and only accidentally slid down a ladder once. Never felt like i was handicapped or was missing something by not being able to do that, given that it went against my slowly creepy nature whenever i was venturing into new territories.

I can confirm this is not true.

I have fallen through the floor when sliding down a few different ladders while running the game at 60fps. Its not just the one you said.

I concluded there's just always the chance sliding down a ladder will glitch the game, so I just stopped sliding down them.

I tried pretty much every ladder in the game, sliding down all of them many times on multiple playthroughs. I'm not sure what else to say. I suppose a toggle switch for FPS is probably the best idea for those with inconsistent results.

I used the fps unlocker to unlock the framerate but then limit it to 30 anyway, just to get rid of the godawful doublebuffered (I think) vsync.

the only thing I feared that happened in 60 fps was that weird bug where you're stuck in a bonfire if you sit down on it and leave the menu before the animation pans out.

Fuck, I hope they take their time.

I prefer Steamworks but I think GFWL works good enough. I'll miss being able to send messages when invading :-(

If it breaks 60fps etc. it'll be a sad day.

Hate to be a negative nancy, again, but where the fuck is this "update"? We heard Nov, it's the 20th and stil nothing, I'd be surprised if it even made it's Nov shift at this point. Not that I should be surprised by the Namco/From (really Namco+anybody, except Nintendo) these day's.

But honestly when is this thing actually happening? A big shift for such a loved game such as this seems as though you'd want to keep the community constantly updated, but I guess not. In any case, unless their adding cards too, which I'd be proud to have the lvl 5/foil badge/background, I really don't give a fuck. I'm not looking forward for ANOTHER version of DSFix, and I care nothing about Steam achieves vs. GFWL, the netcode I can guarantee will be the same if not worse at release. So yeah, just add cards because everything else their doing fucks up the flow.

Well, given the state of the original port, I can only assume 1 guy is working on it... very slowly.

Yeah it wasn't a guaranteed thing. I even slid down the ladder you were talking about a few times without any glitch.

3- Durante has stated multiple times he cares more about resolution and IQ, than framerates.
I said this more specifically about framerates over 60 though.

But yeah, the real issue with the 60 FPS fix is that (1) I didn't make it, and I also don't have all the data originally used to make it and (2) due to it's nature it's almost certainly very hard to "port" to a new version of the game.

I don't see what the issue is here, they said November - maybe they meant 2015! Likely!

Hurry up, FROM. I want to play through this game again, without jumping through a million hoops to do so.

Timetables shift because software development is tricky. Can't cut the g4wl cancer out without a few bumps in the road.

Not entirely surprised if this holds true, but then again he also specifically says it's nothing official, so take it however you want.

There weren't any updates to the app on Monday.

edit: FYI, he's the Bamco US community duder.
