I ended up reading the first review first just to see if the person was actually giving a more realistic view, trying to mimic what Polygon typically does, or is just not that good.
He just doesn't seem to be very good at all, and it makes me wonder if he was just too used to using a shield in the previous games. It also doesn't even read like he was trying to be as unbiased as he could in a subjective review.

It just wasn't for him, he couldn't hang with the difficulty, not a big deal that he didn't like it, because he understands that the audience most likely will.

I didn't see anything interesting about it.
I feel like new IP is really stretching it. I mean, I get it, it is a brand new IP, but it's unapologetically a souls game.

don't know why you wouldn't. gameplay and concept is fundamentally different from the souls games.
Dark Souls CLEARLY came off as Demon's Souls 2. I don't get that sense from Bloodborne at all.

I did expect as much. I have a few friends who are big Dark Souls fans and are also PC elitist (so basically /V/) and are allways on /V/. Whenever they shit on the Ps4 on Facebook you only have to mention Bloodborne to get them into Buthurt mode.
If Red Dead Redeption is a different IP from GTA, Doom is a different IP from Wolfenstein and Chrono Trigger is a different IP from Final Fantasy then I don't see why not
Is Mario 3D World not an original title? I don't like the Wii U, but I had one long enough to play that game and it was brilliant and original.
