To be fair, games journalism has come a LONG way from just a few short weeks ago when The Order scored poorly and it was time for reviews to go away and reviewers to pull their heads out of their asses![]()
That it has.

So I just went to pre order on best buy....
"We're sorry. Due to high demand this item is sold out and has been removed from your order"
This is for in-store pickup.
What the fuck

Definitely not that good looking IQ wise in the retail game, played it for about an hour and half today and the technical stuff is my only problem with the game.

Bloodborne is basically a sequel to Dark Souls tho isnt it
He said new IPs.If susnet counts than infamous should to. They are 1 point difference.
With these scores I just may give this a shot.
I know the load times are shit and there's a patch coming (which I'll wait for), but how about performance otherwise? Tearing? Framedrops? Jaggies?
Any reviews that cover those aspects well without spoiling things otherwise? I'd prefer to jump in blind, knowing almost nothing.

He's not really talking about localizing there. Those are just his initial impressions of the game. While he runs SCEWWS, he doesn't actually control what is and isn't localized. That why he'd tell people that he hoped that Oreshika was localized. He didn't actually have control in making it happen. But there's no doubt that Sony made a mistake by not localizing the game in the first place. Especially after the reaction from players once people started importing it. It was clear at that point that it was something special.

Agreed. Very rough looking, at least early on
Bloodborne is essentially a spiritual successor. Destiny and Halo are vastly different, Bloodborne and Souls are not. Bloodborne is as much a not sequel as DeSouls was to DkSouls. Which is okay because that's what people want.Stop saying this shit. They are the same genre, so Destiny is a Halo sequel amirite?

Thanks, how is the frame-rate?

The visual quality in the Souls games varied significantly. The river leading to a waterfall in Darkroot Basin in Dark Souls looks like something out of a PS1 game (And no, I'm not exaggerating; the river really is that ugly and primitive-looking). However, the Souls games make up for that with some incredible art design.some mixed reviews on the graphics. are they bad ya think?
Good lord.
I step away for 30 minutes to cook dinner and look what's happened.

So is it pretty much impossible for it to go below 90 on meta at this point?

Except the guns, faster gameplay, no dependence on shields, setting, etc.
destructoid reviewer said he finished the game in 32 hours on his first play. that sounds pretty fast considering the souls games took me probably twice that long on my first plays.
Is it fair to call this a new IP?
The good reviews are making me consider checking this one out... but I didn't enjoy Dark Souls at all. Maybe I'll give it a shot when it's cheaper.

Well, Dark 2 is the weakest in the series, by a comfortable margin. The good reviews are making me consider checking this one out... but I didn't enjoy Dark Souls at all. Maybe I'll give it a shot when it's cheaper.
I saw a shield in the gamespot video and was told depending on shields in DS was playing it wrong anyways.
