So I just went to pre order on best buy....

"We're sorry. Due to high demand this item is sold out and has been removed from your order"

This is for in-store pickup.

What the fuck

Clear your cookies, same thing happened when I was trying to preorder for in-store pickup.

 those scores

just......i wish i wasn't so bad at every dark soul/demon soul game :( i struggle so much

i'll give it another shot though, i am hyped

I wonder how well this will sell. Souls has always seemed pretty niche, but for some reason there's a ton of hype... or maybe that's just on GAF/gaming sites. Maybe there's not much mainstream hype.

With these scores I just may give this a shot.

I know the load times are shit and there's a patch coming (which I'll wait for), but how about performance otherwise? Tearing? Framedrops? Jaggies?

Any reviews that cover those aspects well without spoiling things otherwise? I'd prefer to jump in blind, knowing almost nothing.

I know I'm not a reviewer, but there are framerdrops and a good amount of jaggies, haven't experienced any tearing though. I believe one of the reviews has framerate problems as the only negative bullet point.

To be fair, games journalism has come a LONG way from just a few short weeks ago when The Order scored poorly and it was time for reviews to go away and reviewers to pull their heads out of their asses :p

:lol

The amusing thing is that the prevailing current consensus on GAF about that game is even worse than what the critics gave it.

He's not really talking about localizing there. Those are just his initial impressions of the game. While he runs SCEWWS, he doesn't actually control what is and isn't localized. That why he'd tell people that he hoped that Oreshika was localized. He didn't actually have control in making it happen. But there's no doubt that Sony made a mistake by not localizing the game in the first place. Especially after the reaction from players once people started importing it. It was clear at that point that it was something special.

And that's the reason why I don't think Demon's Souls has a PS4 remaster yet. Too many publishers to deal with. I do wonder if Sony could (re)acquire full rights for Demon's Souls if they wanted to do a remaster. I mean, everything else seems to be getting one nowadays.

Can't wait for it to go to shit again by

*flips through pages*

Until Dawn?

Although I dont follow much reviews, I just usually read/see them to see footage, and impressions, its good to see the game getting awesome reviews.

Stop saying this shit. They are the same genre, so Destiny is a Halo sequel amirite?
Bloodborne is essentially a spiritual successor. Destiny and Halo are vastly different, Bloodborne and Souls are not. Bloodborne is as much a not sequel as DeSouls was to DkSouls. Which is okay because that's what people want.

It's so awesome to see this game review so well. SCE needed this, since their output thus far for the PS4 has been less-than-impressive. Hopefully this is just a start for a string of great PS4 exclusives.

There wasn't any uncertainty that Bloodborne was going to be bad, and these reviews solidify that clearly. Just wish I hadn't sold my PS4 before its launch, sadly needed the funds. Hopefully I can grab it down the line but for now replaying Dark Souls 2 will keep me going.

Really love hearing about the interconnected levels. It makes the sense of discovery so very rewarding. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Except the guns, faster gameplay, no dependence on shields, setting, etc.

some mixed reviews on the graphics. are they bad ya think?
The visual quality in the Souls games varied significantly. The river leading to a waterfall in Darkroot Basin in Dark Souls looks like something out of a PS1 game (And no, I'm not exaggerating; the river really is that ugly and primitive-looking). However, the Souls games make up for that with some incredible art design.

Of course, that's the Souls games, not Bloodborne.

destructoid reviewer said he finished the game in 32 hours on his first play. that sounds pretty fast considering the souls games took me probably twice that long on my first plays.

The good reviews are making me consider checking this one out... but I didn't enjoy Dark Souls at all. Maybe I'll give it a shot when it's cheaper.

Gamespot said it took them 65 hours.

So I guess mileage varies considering how much you die and explore.

Its really pissing me off that my friend constantly complains that there are no quality games on PS4 aside from Minecraft and the new batman game coming out soon.

I tried convincing him to get helldivers but he laughed at me and said it looks like a generic top down shooter. So now I am trying to convince him to get Bloodborne as its going to be amazing, and he just laughed at me and said he will stay with mincecraft because its a better quality game and BloodBorne looks terrible and "janky"

I called him a complete fucking moron and we are no longer talking. True story.

I saw a shield in the gamespot video and was told depending on shields in DS was playing it wrong anyways.

Depending on shields in any of the previous Souls games was perfectly viable even if some people say it's "wrong."

Not sure if that's the case here, I'm guessing it isn't.
