Thts par the course. Uncharted 4 which is several years old looks better in most regards than Gears 5 and it's multiplayer is infinitely more dynamic and so on. I'll let tht sink in.

After viewing the video I'll say RDR2 looks better. Not by much, but then again I've not seen enough of TLOU2. Better compared when actually playing.

And I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Far Cry 5's lush environments. Even on my Xbox X, it looks friggin insane so I can't imagine how it looked on a beastly PC.

Environment are not really better looking than game like rdr2 or days gone or forza horizon 4.

The most noticeable things are polygonal models, faces and digital acting , animation and care for details especially the gore.

Those are great looking games but TLOU 2 exceeds them in the visual department judging from what I've seen

Yeah that forest gameplay, that had BY FAR the best looking graphics I have ever seen in any game to date, it is unbelievable the sheer amounts of vegetation, the quality of them, the lighting, the tree textures if you can notice them, everything about it looked like something that the PS4 can't run, but it's Naughty Dog we all know how they are when it comes to graphics.

Those graphics were top-tier best graphics ever! Also that forest OOZES atmosphere, I just wanna play the game, it will be a masterpiece!

ff7remake (played on ps4 pro) is sensibly worse than both rdr2 and tlou2, cmon.
that game has the most uneven graphic ever, you have ps2 era textures IN YOUR FACE everywhere except maybe for the first chapter or the shinra headquarters, even the wall market or the church or aerith's house (3 of the best locations) are afflicted by low res textures and characters lose a lot of details when not in cutscene especially faces, a fucking open world game like days gone or horizon have better ingame models for the chara.

i was really unimpressed by ff7 remake overall to be honest, some good character, some good particles fx during combat and a couple of nice looking locations are not enough to stand close to rdr2 and probably tlou2 too.

I think FFVIIR is definitely a very uneven game, so I should’ve been clearer, sorry. The high points of FFVIIR surpass some pre-rendered CGI films. That’s not an exaggeration - we have a FFVII CGI rendered film for direct comparison, and the game eclipses it more than once. But, it is uneven, and I am discussing the high points.

TLOU2 will suffer from the same problem in terms of model, animation, lighting and material exchanges - the facial animations, for example, are top of the industry... but when the player is actually playing? Nope, it’ll be the usual animations we’ve seen before.

For me, though, the real factor is this: the “wow” shots from RDR2 are all from gameplay. It’s natural moments captured while someone is just enjoying the environment and the world. For all the bluster over “OMG ND”... the wow shots they’re showing off are all from the cinematics. The actually gameplay we’ve seen? It feels flat in comparison; the brighter lighting in particular lacks the volume and fullness that Rockstar seem to be able to deliver at abandon. It’s a good looking game, so I’m not shitting on it, but it’s not the industry leading tour de force some people seem to want it to be. For my money, RDR2, despite being kinda boring, is still the best real time graphics money can buy.

TLOU2 on release without compression artefacts from shitty leaks will probably be the best looking PS4 game by far.
Unlike RDR2 they can bake their lighting and they sure will, so RDR2 will not compete I think. Also image quality will be superior with a properly implemented checkerboard upscaling method.
In terms of mocap and facial animations it will curbstomp literally any other game (maybe except Detroit Become Human).
And other animations will also set a new standard as they are on a completely different level as we have just seen.
The game will absolutely melt eyeballs, they literally took Uncharted 4 and improved on it significantly.

Yes, the amount of foliage and how dense everything looks is ridiculously good. The characters models also look amazing. It's a technical marvel

Yeah and this gen it was the same, Shadowfall to Infamous to DC to 1886 to UC4/LL, to GTS to Detroit to Days Gone to LOU2 and then Tsushima......You can still argue to this day how impressive launch titles like Shadowfall and Infamous still look...…...Next gen will be the same, but LOU2 as it was last gen is such a huge tour de force as it relates to graphics and gameplay and a huge swan song for PS4.....Notwithstanding, Sony always gives us a new IP towards the end of each gen. and Tsushima fits that bill, as looks to light some serious fiyah …...in July....

in the gameplay reveal you can see grass that bends, that's already a cool effect considering that almost no game does it. I can remember seeing that effect since MGS3 and Ghost Recon Wildlands on PC.

If they haven't improved graphics since the last batch of preview videos than tlou2 has nothing on rdr 2. Yeah it has better graphics during cutscenes, but moment to moment gameplay and animations are strictly current gen.

Rdr 2 lightning destroys any game so far. You can take a screenshot any moment during gameplay and it will look fucking amazing. Not the case with tlou2 dont lie to yourselves.

I mentioned in a previous post that I never finished The Last of Us Remastered because I found the gameplay to be boring and subsequently sold it to GameStop. However, these leaks are so shocking that I'm now interested in the franchise again and therefore want to finish the first game in order to prepare myself for the sequel. So, I just bought a digital copy of the game from the PlayStation Store (for $14.99); while in the menu of the game I decided to check whether or not I had any save files from my first, uncompleted playthrough and lo and behold: I discovered a save file from the 2014! I just finished A Plague Tale and I was blown away by the graphics. Such a beautiful game.

I also saw a bunch of the leaks for TLOU 2 yesterday and I do recall seeing one in the forest which I believe was actual gameplay that was simply spectacular. I'm guessing that's the one OP is talking about.
