Seems like a really cool guy and miss him on podcasts (I don't think he has a podcast currently, could be wrong) but he does seem to jump around a lot, but hey, good for him, hope this doesn't effect giant bomb

No surprise. He was on this mobile crap a few years before it was even popular. I still remember his painful to listen to sections on the old 1up podcasts before Garnett left.

I hope this doesn't effect how Giant Bomb is treated.

I don't have an issue with mobile in general but you are correct that he was painful to listen to in those episodes of 1up yours even though I actually think he is great on podcasts.

Best of luck to John, but this worries me for the future of Giant Bomb.

When the deal happened a few months ago they were all like "it's important to know that your boss has your back" and now he's gone.

John: PC gaming is dead because Crysis requires a $2000 PC.

The good old days of 2007.

yeah, he was one of the reasons (if not THE reason) why jeff/the other gb guys returned to gamespot.

I was generally just referring to his iphone shit. I liked him up to the point where he was clearly not much of a gamer anymore and all he talked about was some 5 minute arcade title he found in the past week on his iphone. Everything else he was pretty silent on or didn't know much about, like what you said. It just seemed like he lost interest in normal games.

John Davison was an amazing Editor-in-Chief when he worked in print, but he has been fuckin' dead to me ever since he left GamePro.

Dead. To. Me.

"Very proud of what we've done over the last couple of years, and seen some big changes. Love the team, and happy to hand over to @MondoMovie (Ben Howard)"

"Will continue to write, will be contributing as editor at large working closely with @MondoMovie @justicecovert and all the guys "

He just doesn't like to stay at one place very long, does he? I wonder if he's easily bored.

Or, if he likes to come in to a new gig, do all he can do to save the company, and move on.

August 23, 2007 - leaves 1UP, starts What They Play
September 2009 - sells What They Play to IGN, joins GamePro
August 18, 2010 - leaves GamePro, joins GameSpot
August 28, 2012 - Leaves GameSpot to work on "something mobile"

Gotta question the guy's commitment to work after jumping ship from two major executive positions in the last 24-36 months. Love ya regardless JD, wish you the best.
