My mouse and keyboard are starting to get that slippery feeling from all the usage and I'd really like to eliminate it or at least clean it up some before it gets even worse. I've got a mechanical keyboard and a gaming mouse with a rubberized texture. Is there a certain product that works best? What are the best methods and tools for cleaning them?

Disassemble the mouse, because gunk gets in by the scroll wheel. Clean the plastic parts (not the circuit board) with a toothbrush and dish soap. Put it back together and it'll feel amazing.

Keyboard, I dunno. I can never get the keys off to give it a proper cleaning.

thanks for the laugh
you can actually put rubber dome keyboards in the dishwasher.

though the correct place for them is the bin.

Don't eat while using the computer and point your penis away when ejaculating.

These 2 tips will help to keep everything clean for a very long time.

Pop off keys, top rack of dishwasher. Turn off heated dry. OR

Top rack of dishwasher, turn off heated dry, pull out of washer and then pop off keys and wipe down the inside with a cloth.

xD

so damn right

OT:
I take the casing off my mouse and clean it in the sink once a month or so, for the scrollwheel etc I use a qtip

Keyboard = regular cleaning of the keys with a tissue, there's always going to be crap falling between the keys , the inside of my keyboard probably looks like a rat's nest by now.

I clean my keyboard and mouse because they're probably the nastiest most bacteria ridden objects in anyone's house.

most keyboards will be OK with a rinse cycle in the dishwasher with NO soap. I wouldn't do it if its an expensive keyboard, or if your water is hard (leaves residue on everything).
