Has your favorite albums of 2016 changed at all? After catching up this year like every year, my list for my top of 2016 has changed some.
1 | Oddisee | The Odd Tape
Hip-Hop instrumentals
2 | Kamaiyah | A Good Night in the Ghetto
Rap & Hip-Hop
Found this when I was reading a 2DopeBoyz article and they had a link to this album. Awww shit! I didn't think this shit would've been this good. I had listened to How Does It Feel, but wasn't feeling it, but the rest of the album is solid. Feels like a combination of 90s West Coast, plus modern rap. I've been listening to this shit like mad crazy lately. I'm On and Mo Money Mo Problems have been getting the most play from me.
3 | Fat Jon | Tephlon Funk
Hip-Hop Instrumentals
4 | Rapsody | Crown
Rap & Hip-Hop
???
Just listened to this today. I think I might have been aware of this last year, but ignored it because the thumbnail looked weird. I had no clue the singer was from M&O who I listened to briefly a few years ago. I would've listened to it if I had known that. It's a very good chill album. I'm not sure how to describe it, but her voice puts me at ease.
6 | Anderson .Paak | Malibu
Soul and R&B
7 | Pop Up! | Fresh
Disco & Funk
I was debating if I would leave this here, replace it with Flavored, or put the two together for this spot, but both Pop Up! albums released were some good shit.
