28 YEARS LATER | Official Trailer

Looks good. I think I remember reading this will be two or three movies too. Hoping they stick to the formula of the first movie (although I felt the military mansion portion was the weakest part of the movie).

It seems that zombie near the end of the trailer is Jim (Cillian Murphy). I hope that is a troll/fake-out trailer scene lol, would be cool to see him reprise his role being alive still.

Three thoughts:

1. I've never really cared for Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is pretty wooden in his acting and I basically see Trudeau when I see him.

2. We finally have an actor who has beaten Christian Bale concerning body changes for a role:

3. Looks very interesting, while not super thrilling. But I'll be seeing it nevertheless in theaters.

Rudyard Kipling - Boots (poem, 1903)

We're foot—slog—slog—slog—sloggin' over Africa—Foot—foot—foot—foot—sloggin' over Africa --

(Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up and down again!)

There's no discharge in the war!

Seven—six—eleven—five—nine-an'-twenty mile to-day—Four—eleven—seventeen—thirty-two the day before --

(Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up and down again!)

There's no discharge in the war!

Don't--don't--don't--don't--look at what's in front of you.

(Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up an' down again);

Men—men—men—men—men go mad with watchin' em,

An' there's no discharge in the war!

Count—count—count—count—the bullets in the bandoliers.

If—your—eyes—drop—they will get atop o' you!

(Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up and down again) --

There's no discharge in the war!

We—can—stick—out--'unger, thirst, an' weariness,

But—not—not—not—not the chronic sight of 'em—Boot—boots—boots—boots—movin' up an' down again,

An' there's no discharge in the war!

'Taint—so—bad—by—day because o' company,

But night—brings—long—strings—o' forty thousand million

Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up an' down again.

There's no discharge in the war!

I--'ave—marched—six—weeks in 'Ell an' certify

It—is—not—fire—devils, dark, or anything,

But boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up an' down again,

An' there's no discharge in the war!

Try—try—try—try—to think o' something different—Oh—my—God—keep—me from goin' lunatic!

(Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up an' down again!)

There's no discharge in the war!

You should watch Nocturnal Animals

His acting there was Oscar worthy. No joke (well, he won the Golden Globe for it)

Dude can act, but picks some really questionable roles often

Trailer looks great. I preffer my zombie movies in urban areas, but I'll take anything Danny Boyle cooks

I wonder if we're dealing with smart/evolved infected in this.

100%

That tower of skulls was made by evolved zombies, for sure

That's probably his best role I've seen him in and it was quite a surprise. But in most of the movies I've watched like Kick-Ass and Godzilla he's been a pretty face with no charisma. That's what I'm yet again feeling with this trailer, he has trouble displaying any emotions. He doesn't have "it". I'm honestly surprised he gets the big roles he gets, but I hope I'm wrong and that he nails it in the movie.

The 28 movies are some of my favorite movies. I adore them. I won't judge the movie until it comes out, but "the evolved" thing has me concerned, I just hope they don't go over the top with it and make it comic book-y. They had a winning formula.

Fake out from a dream.

I think it's done by a separate tribe of humans. I suspect this one will be about society behavior post-apocalypse. Wondering if Threads will have a big imact on this film.

I wonder if Erin Kellyman is going to be a gang leader?

For the second installment of this trilogy, 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, Nia DaCosta was in talks to direct earlier this year, with a script by Garland.

I thought Garland had retired from movie-making with Civil War being his last one. Now I see he's also going to direct 'Warfare'. That was a very short retirement.

From the poster you can see that some zombies can now do some Mortal Kombat Fatalities shit to humans, so take that as you will

My guess is that they are stronger/faster/maybe inteligent

I still dont know what to think of that, but I have hopes that Boyle will make a good movie.

I'm much more scared about the other directors in the sequels

I'm very pumped for this now that I have had time to digest the trailer. The movie seems to do very interesting things instead of playing it safe with a basic formula. Having Garland working together with Boyle again is pretty amazing so this project feels as far away as possible from them phoning it in. They both seem to mostly involve themselves with stuff they have a personal interest in.

He’s retired from directing, he’s just a writer now. He wrote this entire new 28 Year trilogy, and the first 2 have already been shot. Second one in the trilogy being directed by Nia Dacosta

I am disappointed as Cillian Murphy and Brandon Gleeson attempting to have moments of normality in the zombie apocalypse of the first film made it memorable. This seems like filler in comparison.

He's co-directing the upcoming movie Warfare. When I heard he was retiring I speculated that it would be more like a longer vacation. Ambitious and creative people like him need to charge their batteries sometimes, but they don't call it vacation for some reason. I've lost count of all the "last movies" of Hayao Miyazaki for example.

Why does this trailer feel like a parody of a zombie movie...

Sony Pictures. That's why.

Terrible trailer. Way over-the-top. Cillian-Zombie in a field is already a meme.

It's written by Alex Garland and directed by Danny Boyle, who both wrote and directed the original. It's very likely this movie will be incredible rather than being shite because Sony are funding it.

Personally I thought the trailer was fantastic. Gave nothing away in terms of plot and gave us a glimpse of how the Rage virus has taken full control.

Also, the use of the poem 'Boots' in the trailer was a stroke of fucking genius.
