A PS1 FPGA console is coming soon; MiSTer FPGA being pivoted

Taking Analogue on head on at a much lower price point isn't something to sneeze at. Seems it will have cd-rom reading too via a dock that will connect under the PSOne inspired unit.

So you get the entirety of the FPGA core that exists on MiSTer with original controller and memory card support, HDMI out scaled as well as basically every analog signal you could want

Still is unclear if S-video is supported.

I also wonder how powerful the FPGA is - could this hardware also support something like the 3DO? Would be cool if this could support basically every console up to the PSX.

Analogue having competition would be nice. But Analogue just have a very nice, consistent aesthetic that's hard to pass if you already have some of their stuff.
But if features are superior on a cheaper unit, then sure, better to go with that.

I'm curious if this was on Analogues road map as well or if they had something else brewing after the Analogue 3D. Not sure if Jaguar has the library for consideration. But a CD system like the Duo that could handle both PS1 and Saturn, maybe even 3D0 or Neo Geo CD, with support for real hardware, memory cards and cartridges would be pretty cool. I still wish they would do a Neo Geo that takes AES carts and real hardware. They are running out of consoles to tackle though. This product does look interesting, but Analogue's hardware is good, just wish their support was better ;)

My guess is Analogue will hit up every major gen console; N64, PS1 and Saturn. Their business model seems to be recreating them all. Then perhaps they will revisit Genesis / SNES / PC Engine with a 4K output

Unlike other Analogue consoles that use original carts, this one doesn't seem to support the original discs. So it will work with Isos like Mister or any emulator does.

Which means, what's the point of getting one? Other than the video options that both the Mister or a modded console will most likely support too at a lower price?

I could see myself getting a Saturn one especially if they support modded disks (English ROMs for Japanese only games).

All that said, issue with Taki’s stuff is they he has very small batches and it’s hard to jump on and actually buy anything, lol.

Other then that the consolized MiSTer looks great.

Edit: iOS Error Correction is Trash and has gotten worse. Seriously, Apple, WTF!?

well under $700. Maybe a touch over $200
I’m reading $149 elsewhere, which would be less than a fully-featured Mister Pi with a case. At that point, if it can do everything a Mister Pi can, I can see myself getting one just because. Screw using CDs.

If Taki Udon can nail that rumored handheld FPGA, the scene will get really interesting.
