Aliens: Dark Descent is now available on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out the latest Aliens: Dark Descent trailer for this real-time squad-based tactical game.
The game is a true hidden gem and one of my surprise favorites from last year. I highly recommend giving it a go, especially if you love Alien & Aliens movies. It captures their atmosphere perfectly and the story is good enough to keep going.
The only questionable mechanic is a timer that appears later in the campaign, I managed to finish the game way before the deadline, but I still felt somewhat uncomfortable and didn't try to full explore mission areas.

Bumping this up since it was on sale. Played 1 hour right now, so far this oozes atmosphere and is an incredible game. Happy to play a bit more.
At release there were some technical issues and design choices made (grunts talking non stop, timer), you have a chance to tone it down or turn it off altogether now.
The cutscenes in this game are top notch. The game looks and plays great too, I just wish it were a third person POV rather than top-down. Other than that I highly recommend it.

I like the game, consume almost anything alien and predator, though I'm not liking the rush type mechanic towards the end of the game, I would've played the entire game differently if I knew it was coming.
They said in this readme last patch: "Addition of a campaign option to disable the Death Clock." So how do you actually stop it ? I don't see any option to do that.

Mind you people are still bitching about the implementation of it, but it is very much possible to do it now.

It's really a great game. Also runs great on Steam Deck (unlike what Mandalore Gaming said) - I have Medium preset, FSR on Quality and 30FPS lock and I get 4hrs+ battery and whisper quiet fans. Sure, hair is hot steaming pile of poo, but other than that it's fine.
