i've played maybe five games of NCAA, all but one have frozen and given me the An Error Has Occurred message. i've played a lot of MVP Baseball and other games and have never gotten this message - so is this a problem with the machine or the game?

The xbox live online play hasnt been stable yet,but today it seems most people,including myself are having better luck today.I havent really heard about people's games freezing,most people just cant log on or stay logged on.

It's probably the game. AFAIK the GameCube does not generate an error message like that.

Return your game and try another one, and make sure your other games are still running fine.

yea. i played two games of mvp baseball without a problem this afternoon. i'm going to return ncaa in a second.

Well, you didn't say the complete error message was "An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions." I thought you meant it literally just said the first sentence, which I had never heard of before.

I didn't even know they were making this for Gamecube. Interesting...

I believe the only main EA Sports franchises missing from the GC are college hoops and boxing (though it did have Knockout Kings 2003).

EDIT: I could care less about college basketball videogames, but I do wish they would've put Fight Night on the GC.
