I’m actually not a huge fan of anime in general (I loved Dragon Ball Z, but I think it just hit me at the right time). But for some reason, I was watching a video on youtube (Pointy Hat, he does loads of videos on d&d content, totally worth checking out!), and he spliced in clips of some kind of anime with a very “cozy” sort of aesthetic in one of his videos, and something about it kind of grabbed me. I don’t remember what it looked like and didn’t see any reference to what it was, though.

I mostly just want to find a show (ideally with a lot of episodes) that’s more chill or feel-good, just something generally upbeat. Could use some suggestions!

mhhh... most shows that would fall under that category that I know don't have that many episodes.

like, Samurai Gourmet. that's a japanese live action show based on a manga, where a retired salary man goes around tokyo and its surrounding areas to find interesting places to eat food at... he daydreams about a wandering samurai from time to time.
it only has 12 episodes tho.

and similar slice of life animes are often similarly short.
like High-Score Girl (although that would probably be more a romantic seinen not slice of life), that's a show about a young boy in the early to mid 90s who is a huge fighting game fan. he finds out that a girl from school is extremely good at Street Fighter 2, and they become friends even tho she barely ever speaks. there's also another girl who's envious of the 2.

it's extremely nerdy, as in the creator is actually a huge arcade game nerd and the manga and the anime go into a lot of detail about some of the games, including stuff like character balancing in SF2, or games on different consoles of the time like the Saturn or PC Engine etc.

so it's chill, nostalgic... but short. 21 episodes and 3 OVAs (the OVAs were released as the last 3 episodes of season 1 tho in the west)

Hmm. I liked my dress up darling a few years back. Manga is coming to the end lottle abrubtly in a couple of weeks, but I did like the subject of cosplay and cosplayers, and super upbeat main girl.

Cozy and easy to watch are kind of two different things to me. I wouldn't put Mushishi as cozy, but it's very easygoing. Same with Kino no tabi or Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita. Definitely check out Frieren too.

For cozy I guess I would say Usagi Drop, Clannad, Momo e no Tegami, or Ah My Goddess. A more recent one I liked was Sono Bisque Doll

plenty of chill animes out there. the cute girls doing cute things type, like Azumanga Daioh, K-on, Laid Back Camp are all great, especially Laid Back Camp. Spy X Family is kinda on the line between chill and exciting but it's great. The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today is also pretty chill and heart warming. there's also Yokohama Shopping Log, a really old manga series that got an anime. I think you might be able to find the OVA on Youtube if you look around. then you have the Isekai ones like Another World And Twins, Camp Fire Cooking In Another World With My Absurd Skill, By The Grace Of The Gods. all of these are pretty good and I like Camp Fire the most out of all of them. The Slime Diaries is also pretty chill, but it would be best if you had watched the show it spin out of, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, which to behonest, is a pretty good one and well worth watching. and keep an eye out the upcoming The Cat And The Dragon. I ADORE the manga and they just annonced they're working on an anime not long ago.

probably going to be at least end of year if not next year before it comes out, but I'm there for it for sure.

I don't really watch anime so I might be laughed out of here from anime and Pokmeon fans, but I randomly put this on and haven't watched Pokemon since OG days.

But the island theme and cartoon style, it's something comfy to put on as you fall asleep. I believe it's on Hulu now.
