I wondered, I've seen people mentioning Armored Core, but are there actually people out there playing it with friends? I started playing AC with some friends with AC: Project Phantasma which, ironically, still has some of my favorite maps: a quite stupid tree-plantation-like level which is, however, spread with mines which provides endless fun (blowing up clusters of mines with huge cannons). An other favorite level is the one with an enormous river-gorge in it, ideal for lurking. Ther were also some cool indoor levels with lots of corridors, doors and crossing sections/sewers.
Now I'm playing AC3, and it's multiplay level do suck. They seem smaller then the levels from the old PSOne AC's, and they aren't half as fun to play. The only classic is the Arena, in which you don't really benefit from the enviroment. It's as pure as AC gameplay comes, the one controlling his customized AC best wins. The game does have more of'n Beat'm Up feeling then a FPS feeling in the Arena IMO.
Anyway, with AC3's multiplay levels lacking big time I'm looking forward to Nexus with hopes they're gonna do better this time. Online gameplay = something to look forward to, but if the levels suck hard it's not gonna be enjoyable, and right now the chances of From Software designing good levels seem to be totally unpredictable to me :/
