maybe im just bored and/or irratated at work today but I find myself annoyed by people who have to type really loud and make every keystroke known. Then they have to hit enter with the utmost authority like it was the fucking execute button in Lost.

soft

I'm a hard typer. The keys have to know who their master is. At this very moment I'm making it known to everybody within eardrop that I own this keyboard, not the other way around.

I'm a hard typer cause the keyboard work gave me is absolutely awful. I'm thinking about buying the Apple keyboard to bring in here to use. Anyone have it and want to tell me if it's worth it?

Hardest typers are the older generation who grew up using manual or electric typewriters, where you actually had to hit the keys hard to make a letter register.

My keyboard is really loud. I'm a soft typer but you can hear this thing clack from across the room. Sometimes I'll type hard but that's really only when I'm going really fast.

More of a hard typer. When I get in a groove I just don't pay much attention to how hard I'm hitting the buttons. I slam on the spacebar pretty hard. You didn't hear that but everyone in my office just did.

That reminds me, why do keyboards and especially mice make that annoying clicking sound? WTF is the point?

depends on the keyboard. I'm a fast typer, so sometimes I might hit the keyboard a little hard as my fingers blow by. But I like to keep the noise down.

Ridiculously heavy typer. Of course, my big fat meaty fingers coupled with the fact that I type at over 100wpm really makes it noisy no matter what I try

I type pretty hard when I'm trying to emphasize something, or at least convince myself that I'm emphasizing something. I don't type really hard but I type so fast on a relatively loud keyboard that it's hard to ignore.

A bit on the harder side of things, though my typing makes very little noise due to the fact that my desktop PC has a keyboard with laptop-style keys.

Yup, learned typing that way.

i'm a very heavy typer, which annoys the hell out of everyone around me in class whenever i take notes with my laptop. i always keep my fingers rooted on the asdf-jkl; keys, but i slam my fingers down on the keys with swift justice whenever i'm on a roll.

on that note - the Dell Latitude D630 has one of the noisiest keyboards ever. really great switches, but really, really loud.

I don't think I'm a very hard typer. I don't beat on the keyboard like it stole my husband or anything. But keyboards and mice are naturally pretty clicky on their own.

:lol I've had that issue before. Yeah, some people type as if you hit the key harder it will give you a better looking character.

I hunt n' peck so I guess soft typer.
Actually, a lot of hunt & peckers are loud. They are moving their hands away to see the keyboard labels and when they see the right key, the swing down with their whole hand and the pointer finger just crushes that key: BANG!

Heavy typers drove me absolutely insane at my last job... a data-entry company.

Yeah, this is true.

When I write essays I put on some really loud music and kind of type-dance. It's super embarrassing and I hope no one ever witnesses it.

I type fast, so its pretty hard. Plus, it depends on your keyboard, some are quiet that a baby can fall asleep in your vicinity, while others are really damn loud you'd think there was stampede of rams running across the keyboard.

I like it as hard as possible. As a matter of fact, I've been looking for one of those old clicky IBM keyboards but I have no idea where to find one.

Good question...never really paid attention. Typing this, I'm a softy it seems. =)

I only type hard when I want to wake up my co-worker who is sleeping right in front of me. I especially punch that enter-key as loud as I can.

Most of the time this doesn't work though, so I might have to resort to dropping my stapler or something that makes a bit more noise.

I type quite softly when I'm at home, but on public places like classrooms I try to mash the keyboard as hard as I can, partly because the keyboard isn't mine and partly to annoy people like the op :lol I'm serious
