Confirmation bias is strong with those that can't handle a non-white male lead. If they can find one link that vomits out the same tired opinion that they have, it is a global trend.

In games and movies there is a lot of risk. I find it hard to believe that the general market causes something to fail because of what whiners call DEI. These things fail as a product and that is a small aspect of it. If a game or movie doesn't do well at launch, it is a failure of marketing. Most people go into these things blind. They see the pitch and buy. The real backlash happens later, and while it might impact longer term sales, it doesn't really impact the blind buys, that is all on how the product was pitched and what the competition was at the time.

I see this argument a lot, and it's a little concerning. The fact that far leftism exists and is rampant, or even that it currently has outsized influence on mainstream entities like Wikipedia doesn't mean that the far right are an imaginary thing.

I say it sounds like it, because I've seen this kind of red meat thrown out by otherwise obscure outlets with names like this ("epic" words that allude to Biblical themes or fetishized medievalism) and very quickly picked up on their underlying beliefs from other writings.

This false equivalency isn't true at all.

Nobody here is trying to ban discussions of games, ban users because they like certain game, fire people because of their political affiliations, or worse, want them dead. The vast majority of users are merely stating they dislike how some games are being handled, how some properties are being distorted to fit radical agendas and they will not consume them under these conditions.
