Delaying the game will not make it good. Anyway, I interpret this to mean they're trying to find a buyer for the company before releasing the game. This way they can prevent the game from cratering whatever perceived value the company might have left.

Dammit, now I have to wait even longer to not buy this game.
Just not preorder it now and you should be fine.

Things do not work that way. Its a 5 week delay and it was originally planned to launch in about 5 weeks.

At Ubisoft, we continuously strive to leverage our core competencies while dynamically realigning synergies to proactively allocate resources in a forward-facing manner. In light of the unexpected operational recalibration that resulted in suboptimal outcomes, we want to assure all stakeholders that this moment represents an opportunity for reflective iteration and strategic pivoting.

Our agile frameworks and robust infrastructure are designed to mitigate unforeseen disruptions; however, the emergent nature of this challenge necessitated a rapid redeployment of assets, which inadvertently impacted our holistic deliverables. While we acknowledge the temporary dissonance in stakeholder alignment, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a paradigm of perpetual optimization.

As we move forward, we are activating a cross-functional task force to ideate and implement granular enhancements to our workflow matrix. By synergizing innovative paradigms with actionable insights, we aim to recalibrate our deliverable ecosystem in a manner that maximizes value realization for all impacted verticals.

We deeply appreciate your patience as we navigate this ecosystemic inflection point and are confident that the lessons learned will allow us to achieve unprecedented leverage in our operational bandwidth. Rest assured, we are committed to recalibrating expectations and realigning outcomes in a strategically meaningful and forward-compatible manner.

I wouldn't be surprised If this is the case. Valhalla made over 1billion(somehow). Hype for Shadows has tanked. I'm guessing Pre-orders are way down. Gamers finally wising up to Ubisoft mediocrity

If only they never made the Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed movies, Sony would likely have purchased them already.

Guess kcd 2 and Avowed gets my playtime. Catch you in march Ac.
Tencent buyout and restructuring might get us a new splinter cell.

Delay it till the winter, may as well. This thing will crash and burn unless its absolutely perfect.
I think that might be the reason. Given the negative press the game has gotten so far, they know they can't really get away with releasing a buggy, unfinished game so they took a few more weeks to polish it up.

So it's gonna miss out on Black History Month. Are they gonna delete Yasuke altogether??

No way, That would only make things worse. People who hated it will still not buy the game and then the other people will cry about them taking him out and not buy the game. lol.

The only thing they can do n ow is make the girl the real main character and make the samurai guy the supporting character who you only play once or twice.

I think they already are doing similar thing. I noticed all the recent promotions/previews are focused on the girl.

It was a deeply retarded idea to make this game with a foreigner protag. Everything aside with the historical figure, you had to know it would be controversial. When you absolutely need a hit game to keep the lights on, why wouldn’t you play it safe.
Yeah, that was an idiotic decision. The direction was probably decided and kicked off around 2020-2021 time frame and here we are.

If the game doesn’t hit, it can basically completely tank Ubisoft as a company at this point.

Can we stop linking to blue haired sky please.

I called this yesterday I think it was. Was looking at ps5 pre orders and couldn't understand why this wasn't there a month from release.

Good it's delayed because at this point they'll have fixed a lot of the usual day 1 Ubisoft shithousery.

They can delay it till 2030 and it will still be absolute shit.

UBI needs to drain the swamp of idiot leadership, keep the employees who actually want to make "games", and try to rebuild from their past legacy.
