Assassin's Creed Shadows Gets Another Delay - Now Releasing March 20th

They delayed it because there wasn't enough collectibles on the map.
They are trying to chase popular games, how we can blame them for that?

So really the true release date is summer because I always buy these on sale 2-3 months after release for like $40.

Dont worry.

UBI has a back up plan for the month delay. Assassin's Creed NFTs.

Get your wallet ready because in Feb they will sell digital katanas. Limited quantity. Only 1,000,000 available at $50 each. Get one before they run out.

Are they so sure the game bombs they want to be bought before releasing it because it would tank the value further?

You can snag a share of Ubisoft stock for just 2 bucks right now. At this point they don't meet the requirements to call it a tank.

At Ubisoft, we continuously strive to leverage our core competencies while dynamically realigning synergies to proactively allocate resources in a forward-facing manner. In light of the unexpected operational recalibration that resulted in suboptimal outcomes, we want to assure all stakeholders that this moment represents an opportunity for reflective iteration and strategic pivoting.

Our agile frameworks and robust infrastructure are designed to mitigate unforeseen disruptions; however, the emergent nature of this challenge necessitated a rapid redeployment of assets, which inadvertently impacted our holistic deliverables. While we acknowledge the temporary dissonance in stakeholder alignment, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a paradigm of perpetual optimization.

As we move forward, we are activating a cross-functional task force to ideate and implement granular enhancements to our workflow matrix. By synergizing innovative paradigms with actionable insights, we aim to recalibrate our deliverable ecosystem in a manner that maximizes value realization for all impacted verticals.

We deeply appreciate your patience as we navigate this ecosystemic inflection point and are confident that the lessons learned will allow us to achieve unprecedented leverage in our operational bandwidth. Rest assured, we are committed to recalibrating expectations and realigning outcomes in a strategically meaningful and forward-compatible manner.
You forgot the land acknowledgement at the beginning and mentioned nothing about diversity of thought.

They actually pushed it out of Black History Month 🤣 And considering their more recent gameplay overviews focused on the girl character, it really begs the question of what they intend to do with Yasuke.

Making him the main character of the game was completely understandable, of course - I mean, the 99% white development team, being on the right side of history, knows that only black lives matter and hip hop music is always an important aspect of traditional japanese settings.

But now that they're quietly sweeping this all under the rug... what do they mean by this :pie_thinking:

(Narrator: he asks, looking at his newly purchased, ubisoft branded, white robe and torch)

Real talk, if I got tossed into the CEO chair at Ubisoft, first thing I’d do is holler at the Japanese folks to get their say on who the protagonist should be. Then, I’d pop out with an announcement that we're switching up the main character and start teasing the next Assassin’s Creed being set in the Ashanti Empire during the transatlantic slave trade. Help take down the snakes selling out their own people while hunting the pale ones!

Yo, I’m sensitive, so don’t crush my dreams, bruh!

Well according to Tom Henderson they are rewriting the story a bit
But first, let me address some of the wild rumors about Yasuke—he’s not going to be removed. However, sources have said that the team has been actively addressing many of the historical and cultural concerns, which started before the game’s reveal following external playtests and were accelerated further following the game’s initial reveal and mass feedback. This includes changing some of Yasuke’s story and how he’s portrayed in the game, fixing architectural details, and ensuring that the game is historically grounded while fitting into the Assassin’s Creed universe.

The company is worth more until they release this unflushable turd. Says it all!

They should make Yasuke the first boss and put a Japanese guy in as protagonist - day one then.

So basically it goes like this

"Our game's garbage, so, instead of sending it out to die in an already jam packed February, we're delaying it to avoid the embarrassment".

There I fixed it for ya'!!!

Stick a fork in it.

Negative sentiment won't blow over, the diehards won't stay interested forever.

Worst of all, GTA6 is going to release soon take everyone's attention for good.

In the movie biz they'd put this on two screens and start the accounting protocol.

Presumably video games aren't integrated as well into finance ponzi schemes so they have to try a release?

Smart move. February would have been a bloodbath for this game. I mean it even won the glitch award....already! :messenger_grimmacing_

I hesitate to say this, but I'm surprised I haven't seen a poll thread for review score predictions, and another one for sales predictions on this game yet.

God, I wished they would have stayed where they were and watched KCD2 blow this woke, DEI piece of shit out of the water.

Hold up, the way y’all are talking about DEI makes me feel like this forum is full of only white people. Please tell me I’m not the only Black person here? Anyone who’s been through it knows DEI is often just corporate lip service. Seriously, the company I work for has had a dedicated DEI team for the past eight years, yet every high-level position is still occupied by a slice of Wonder Bread. Even our DEI team doesn’t include a single Black person. There’s one Spanish-speaking person, so I guess they think that counts as ‘diverse’?

Imma go touch grass man.

You can tell game studios are full of shit because going by their company photo of 200 employees it heavily skews to white guys too. So for all the DEI inclusion with more women and minorities in the game, the studios dont even put their money where their mouth is and hire more women and minorities. Thats probably why the games have such numbnut jammed in wokeism. All these white guys dont know how to do it as their best experience of blacks, latinos and asians come from watching rap videos, boyz in the hood and ordering chinese take out. You can tell right away, since almost all black people in games are the big brute football player tough guy or has crazy big hair. And almost all of them sound like grew up in a ghetto.

Case in point, the debacle about AC Creed Shadows and the half broken temple post thing. I dont know anything about it as I'm not Japanese, but youd think a game based in Japan would have some more accuracy and ethics. Instead, some random UBI guy probably just a did google image search and picked it not knowing better. 99% chance it was a white guy I'd bet.

Our agency has assigned / paid for a series of mandatory DEI trainings. The two people who got scolded for "not participating" were a full native american who was the first to leave their reservation, and a hispanic who HATES the term latin x, just for context, lol. Both are pretty based and i highly respect both. You can only imagine the shades of the instructors......

They keep delaying this and it will run straight into a buzzsaw named Ghost of Yotei

But at least it won't get eaten alive by Monster Hunter Wilds now I guess

Didn't knew EDMIX EDMIX was writing their apology message for the shareholders.
I'll wait for EDMIX EDMIX to write another 10000+ words essay in this thread to meticulously and thoroughly detail how this armature writing is far inferior to his authentical output.

I mean, at this point do you guys just have no life other then harassing people on this site over this shit?

The more time they're cooking it will be more delicious 😋

Also stop being too much suck ups, those who doesn't like your output will not change if you use sweet talk, this is the game you choose to make so man up (if you have any left).

A rather curious release date since Ubisoft's fiscal year ends on March 31st. I wonder if Ubisoft will use that as an excuse during the shareholder meeting and will pinky promise that the game will have legs.

If Ubi follow their latest trilogy mechanics, the game will probably sale well.

But that is not the issue here. The issue is all those Japan history and perfect candidates throughout Japanese history and they had to put their DEI agenda and choose Yasuke. And hip hop music and god knows what else.

I like (maybe love) AC series but I really got tired that, one of my favourite game series got fucked up again by that fucked up DEI mentality, AGAIN. I'm really really tired of this shit. All my darlings getting killed by these mentality and I'm so angry.

It was a deeply retarded idea to make this game with a foreigner protag. Everything aside with the historical figure, you had to know it would be controversial. When you absolutely need a hit game to keep the lights on, why wouldn’t you play it safe.
Games that “play it safe” are never hits.

If they take the black samurai out that would be a big missed opportunity because they really have a chance to do something very unique and they need that element to differentiate the game from Ghost of Tsushima IMO.

It would also set a very back precedent because of these people complaining online are not real gamers, they don’t represent the real world.

The biggest hit games are the games that play it safe. CoD, Fifa, Madden, NBA2k, CS2, etc.

I’m not even advocating playing it safe, I’m saying with your company’s back again the wall why would you introduce controversy for no reason? If they wanted to differentiate themselves from Ghost of Tsushima they should have just strived to make a better game than that. People love Samurai games.

How can you say people complaining online aren’t reflective of real life sales and gamers? Concord, Suicide Squad, Star Wars Outlaws, Veilguard, Forspoken… all massive flops after getting lambasted online.

Somewhere around the time they changed the disclaimer is when things over there really started to go to shit.

I don’t know if delays will ultimately help them when it’s clear where their priorities are.

I remember them sending out official polls over 10 years ago now asking people where they wanted the series to take place in the future, and feudal Japan was on the list, when people talked about where they wanted the series to go it was usually overwhelmingly that time period and location. They could’ve had an absolute winner on their hands but they just couldn’t help themselves.

They're riding on this game and need it to be a mega banger, so they're fucking scared to release now...

It'd be funny as fuck if they keep delaying the game till it lands near the biggest megaton game of this gen aka GTAVI

For the last decade, Assassins Creed has been the paradigm of playing it safe. In the minds of the present creators, you can't play it any safer than a DEI main character who will get universal praise from the media and the usual crowd. You can't say with a straight face that this is a bold move.

And this is even more notorious in the year that Ghost of Yotei features a female lead, also as expected. Both are playing it safe, according to their own agendas.

The only way for Ubisoft to do something unique is by innovating in mechanics, narrative and many other elements that have stagnated. For that they need a kind of talent that isn't in the house anymore.

Licensing issues for the hip hop tracks? Maybe they just need more since we'll be beating down Japanese men for 60+ hours with a brotha. Day 1.

Ubisoft situation is sad. Never seen a publisher going from top tier years ago to such miserable state. It will be a case study for many others in the industry, hopefuly.

It seems like they're kinda desperate for this to be good and well received on day one because being their premium title this might have a serious impact on their stock value and so on discussions with potential buyers.
It could be good news for the game but in any case it's pretty much clear Ubisoft will be acquired during the year, they can't stand on their legs anymore with all the damage the Guillemot management has done.
