There’s a few movies that are special to me but that aren’t that good:

• The Terminal - a movie I actually don’t like that much but is still special to me. When I was younger, every time around Christmas this movie would play on tv and my mom would always watch it. She really liked it and still do. So I started to watch it with her, at first out of boredom and with time it became a way for me to bond with her. And it’s still something we do together every time it’s on tv or we just watch it whenever. So it will always be a special movie for me.

• The Police Academy (1-7) - again movies my mom absolutely loves! Since it’s older movies I grow up seeing them. As a kid I found them funny and it became something I watched with mom. Now it’s not something I would watch myself but they are still very special to me.

• Every dinosaur documentary on tv - well technically not movies but still the same feeling. One of my brothers was obsessed with dinosaurs when he was a kid and loved everything about them. I remember when we were younger there would, ones a week, go a sort of documentary about dinosaurs on tv. Every time it started my dad would always call us to the living room so we could watch it together. Even though I wasn’t that interested I still watched with them. Eventually my brother lost interest in dinosaurs, but my dad would still call us to watch and we watched it from time to time. I guess we all felt it was nice to watch it together like we had done for years.

That’s some small but nice memories I have from bad movies and an documentary.

Star Wars Episode 2.

The local movie theater turned the launch week into this big event where they had people in costumes, statues, various stands, etc. A lot of regular people also came in costume and the whole vibe was just fun and felt like a mini star wars convention. This was before theaters in my country discovered the groundbreaking feature of... numbered seats, so for a big release you had to go there hours earlier to stand in line and grab good seats. Me and some friend got there like 3 hours earlier to line up, but it was a fun experience.

Half the audience audibly freaking out when Yoda started fighting was also fun.

The movie is shit though (at least not quite as bad as the new ones).

The Ron Howard Grinch movie. I actually prefer it to the original. Jim Carey was great in that role.

I absolutely love Super Mario Bros. One of the best bad movies ever made, and a B movie classic. It's cheesy in the best way possible.

Knotting Hill with Hugh Grant and Julia Robert's maybe? I'm not sure if that's a bad movie though. That brownie scene is legit great.

Ugh...one of me and my brother's favorite movies as young teens. Tried to go back to it recently. Whew! Shoulda left the past in the past and saved the good memories.

I watched this one movie with my friend one night in like elementary school. Think we played some Mario Party earlier, some other Nintendo games and decided to either rent a movie at Blockbuster ? or maybe it was just about to run on one of the channels when we were flipping through on the guide? ...But anyway it was a movie with Martin Lawrence and a dude named Tim Robbins called Nothing To Lose

Can't remember too much of the film except for maybe one campfire scene or something involving them near their cars at night getting ambushed by someone? Or maybe they were laying low in the middle of nowhere to the side of the road...but yeah that scene and the ending scene where they steal some kind of vase or some shit in a room with lasers guarding the valuable. It's one of those 90s movies that has that quality you can't replicate, a product if its time. Nothing To Lose wasn't a great movie, and I'm not a fan of Martin Lawrence at all but my friend's a huge fan of his so we watched it. Decent watch I guess but I enjoyed the memory of it more than the movie itself mostly. Was a big fan of what Coolio was doing around that time so it was great to hear one of his songs on the soundtrack, I do remember I'll C U When U Get There playing

lol, I have a bunch of those on 3d blu-ray. there are a couple Attenborough hosted that aren't terrible (Conquest of the Skies, Flying Monsters, Natural History Museum Alive)

the most amusing part is the trope where they pretend they're looking at the cgi animals and their gazes dont match the cgi at all

This is tough for me because the movies I watched as a kid were all great to me. My friends and I loved Explorers which may be considered bad, but I still love it for the feelings it brings back up.

Dark Star - The 1974 film Written mostly by Dan O'Bannon (writer of Alien) and John Carpenter before both were that well-known. Cheesy movie but it was meant everyway to be just that. I watched the movie two times in a row once. I'm not quite sure why. It's special but if you're expecting something crazy like Alien or Halloween... no...they meant for it to be comedic.

The Langoliers - The Stephen King TV miniseries with David Morse as the pilot. The miniseries itself had terrible CGI (lower grade than some of the games of the mid90's). I watched it during lockdown last year and it made me feel less isolated. So, not the greatest Stephen King film adaptation but a good memory.

Human Highway - This movie was a meaningless film that starred, was written and directed by Neil Young . It starred buddies of his IRL (Dean Stockwell, Russ Tambyln, and Dennis Hopper). Filmed mostly in 1978 and not completed until 1982. The band DEVO makes a huge appearance throughout the film. If you want something silly. Stupid, and fun...it's a good movie. I've always been a big Neil Young fan and watched this my Junior year in High School on an old VHS. I have fond memories showing it to a classmate and just laughing at some of the lines and strange things that happen in the film.

Short Circuit (1986). I watched this movie a lot when I was a kid on my VCR. I was fascinated by the demonstration of artificial intelligence for a 1986 film, but I must admit that the plot is pretty generic.

All William Castle remakes from the later-90's / early 2000's were terrible. It's very much still reflective of what Hollywood does today (recycling older films and trying to re-purpose with remakes). I'm glad they never screwed with Tingler that I'm aware of. Absolutely unwatchable would be where I would put them too. Watch the originals. Even though there's some cheese, they're fun to say the least and good for making new memories.

I watched the hell out of Wild Wild West, it was like one of only 3 or 4 DVDs we owned or something, I genuinely thought it was a rollicking good time of a part-comedy action flick

EDIT: Yeah the Terminal is fine, it's nothing special but then neither was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy or any other star vehicle blockbusters

I dont remember much, but those Tremor movies with the Family Ties dad were awful.

Maximum Overdrive was awful too.

But they had hilarious scenes. The dad made every scene a comedy bit and in MO, one scene has some woman crying to the machines and it shoots her.
