Out of nowhere! Wonder if they will recast the voice for the first game. They were kind of cringe. Origins got me hooked. They got me excited. Then GBA hitting hard with some Golden Sun down the road. What an awesome direct.

They're gonna make it "anime" to simplify the visuals.

This artwork is almost 6 years old. At this point, I think its safe to presume it is simply a really nice artwork for the recruitment page that means nothing.

Origins' English VA was good but lets be honest here the first game has some really bad English VA.

Majority of JRPG I play in Japanese voice expect few of them like Nier, I'm not gonna skip game like this over not having English VA.

I liked Xenosaga, but that series was all over the place.

3 vastly graphic styles in one generation, and had it continued I had a feeling it would turn into Kingdom Hearts level of cringe. (or Star Ocean)


I don't see how to salvage it without spending big bucks, apart from direct port and call it a day.

Day one. Loved the battle system and the music. Bummer with the English dub, though. Although it was worse then the FFX laugh, it still gave the game some kind of Charme.

They need to remake fully for Xenogears and Xenosaga. Both have troubled development.

God damn do I missed pre-rendered backgrounds. Shame that they abandoned it altogether instead of just finding ways to make it mesh with 3D in a more realistic way.

Wow this was a nice surprise! Still have my GameCube copies, and replayed the first one last year on the Steam Deck emulated.

Losing the English dub is a shame, but for anyone who hasn't played the series, having them available again in any form is fantastic, they are great games!

The backgrounds don't seem HD (they were drawn in HD, so that's a let down) but at least they are properly 16:9. Seeing the games were 4:3 originally, I was afraid they would just zoom/crop it.

I checked a few scenes and can confirm that's not the case, phew.

Both games are gems. Absolutely in love with both.

Unfortunately, I don’t see them making a 3rd.

I also wish the marketers could communicate to people that the games revolving around “cards” is misleading; it’s basically just attacks with pictures and some very mild RNG
