...and I was just wondering what's the differences besides size and asthetics? If any?

How much did you pay? I sold mine two summers ago and sorta regret it now.

and that's really all you need to know. I had one, loved it until I tried to plug it in with my new S-Video cables. damn you, Nintendo!

I found one of those naked with the power pack in a flea market for $25. Too bad all my 16 bit stuff is packed away now - it was a cool redesign. Sucks about S-Video, though.

I heard that these can be modded for use with S-Video for the SNES and A/V cables for the top loading NES, but never seen them modded myself.

I have both types of SNES systems, but just stick with the original for the S-Video, and use the other SNES for my Super 8 Converter for playing NES games.

No, although you can sort of fudge s-video with a SNES and Tristar/Super 8 adapter.

no. they just didn't connect some of the leads to the port on the SNES2. it still does composite through that jack just fine. teh suxx0r i say.

Well, i don't know if it's true but they are weaker than the old model. I mean mine is a couple of years old it's already working bad as my overused first model i bought around launch...

the toploading NES2 doesn't even support regular RCA cables. I'd probably play it more often if it did. Hooking up that R/F switch sucks dick.

dunno. i just avoided the problem at all by sticking with the SNES1. the SFC jr. (as it's known) does support svideo, FWIW.
