Beyond Good & Evil 2 still in development

Part of the problem was that Ancel was acting like a dick and was constantly changing his mind. So, Ubisoft ejected him.

Of course, he totally denies it.

I really liked BG&E when it came out. A nice little Zelda-like with great music, and just dark enough thematically not to interfere with the shit ton of pot I smoked at the time. Not very interested in whatever the hell a sequel would be at this point.
I remember playing Zelda Wind Waker on the game cube for 9 hours straight high at a friends house, good times.

What's the fucking point without Michel Ancel?

It's like making a new Nier game without Yoko Taro or a new Dark Souls without Miyazaki
This. I wager 5$ its current and final form will be some "Ubisoft original" GAAS anyway.

Here is an article about it.

It sounds like Ancel was caught making a hostile work environment and was told to retire.

Of course, they made it look like it was his own descision to retire.
Wouldnt be surprised if Ancel was a dick. Anyone can google it now and see what was written 4 years ago when he left. Video game companies have a knack for crazy employees and wild west corporate culture.

I've worked at giant companies since I got my first job out of university. The product lines and sales involved make your typical video game look like chump change. Tons of people and managers involved. Some people are better than others, but I've never known anyone wacky like you get from video game articles or their social media account. People are pretty chill and professional even when you got gigantic budgets and sales on the line. The closest rager you get is the stereotypical (true) sales director pressure cooking sales people to make their quarterly sales if it's trending poorly. But that's kind of it.

Hahaha. Good one.

My penis is still in development, doesn't mean its getting released anytime soon.

And It's been nearly 20 years since this game was announced. Who the hell is this even going to appeal too?
Even if BG&E 2 releases someday you can't trust the Ubisoft of today not to find a way to screw something up. From making games for "the modern audience" to their shitty business practices, never bet on Ubi.

Already there, buddy. I'm just not sure exactly who or what they're going for at this point. Michele Ancel also seems to be more into hiking and retired and left Wild, which I think was cancelled, in the middle of development.

I'm just being honest when I say"who is this for" because short of a direct sequel based on whatever was originally planned I'm not 100% sure what to expect of any decent quality

Who the f cares at this point. It's not like it's some beloved series. There was one game. 16 years is a joke. Just fuck off with any news about it.

BG&E2 needs a few more years in the oven. Eventually the gap between the OG and the sequel become far enough apart there's actually a demand for it again. But we need at least another 5 years of development hell and "real soon now" announcements for that to kick in.
