There are pros and cons to both, like the actual set up (also border can be various colors). We'll see how good this and its software works (you may already opt for a Gun4IR setup instead). For me the most disappointing aspect of any such product so far is the final price more than anything else, I don't see how/why they cost more than $50. Real lightguns used to go for around that much back in the day and it's still just some plastic with a few buttons and a camera not much unlike a Wii remote (also around $40 in 2006), only some super elaborate gun/weapon models like some of these here or the addition of a high quality pedal or other systems justifies an excessive price for those interested in that niche-within-a-niche, a basic gun shell shouldn't be expensive. Especially with the potential of emulating/playing lightgun games in VR it's just too limited use for too high a price.I like this, I'm glad I forgot to buy a Sinden now. Annoying but much better to have crap stuck to your TV than a white border around every game window.

Saw a really positive p/review of it on youtube when I was checking into these things. Pricy but looks good and much improved from the company's last cheaper gun too. He called it a "budget" option and it's anything but, lol, everybody's making this shit super expensive when back in the day you had a real lightgun for like 50, the price of a game, and that too seemed expensive but understandable. All these use camera/tech not far removed from Wii so it's just a gun shaped controller with less/simpler inputs, Idk why they all gotta charge 150-200+ or whatever, a Wii remote was around 50 too and for the time had a really high hz camera at that. Of course it only tracked two points of the sensor bar leading to its inferiority to real lightguns and modern solutions that either use a border like Sinden or more infrared lights but that's mostly software (outside optional expensive recoil).I just paid for the new Retro shooter guns (RS3). Hope I don’t get buyers remorse like happened with the Sinden guns

Most don't have the mecnanical gun recoil of the mentioned RS3 but just rumble. I noted the option separately anyway. Just speaking of the core gun pricing (and needed cables, IR bars etc.) mate, obviously buying more shit costs even more. Original lightguns weren't mass produced either, they were niche even back then, with a far smaller industry at the time too. The innards are widely available, buttons, sticks d-pads, they're just weirdly shaped game controllers plus the camera, which can also be sourced from whichever mass manufactured for all the millions of mobile devices out there is most suitable, nobody created their own spec and design. They didn't know how massive Wii was gonna be after N64 and GC when they set the hardware and pricing anyway and probably still had a healthy profit margin for extra controllers as happens with all accessories. Current 3rd party controller manufacturers often charge less or the same rather than more for equvalent budget and feature tiers (not some super premium product with gold plates and diamond sticks, come on, the standard stuff) to first party controllers despite selling way lower quantities too. Retro-bit etc.Modern light gun solutions include optional pedals and gun recoil, plus they manufacture them in small shipments since they ain't mass produced like the Wii.
