People have been crying out for big maps for a long time, instead of the ever decreasing death zones they have been creating, they actually make larger maps, with great openness, and then IGN go and mark it down.

I didn't actually think people bought new games on demand at maximum price, but there you have it. Surely the money saved by buying it from a supermarket or something would justify physical over digital?
That $10 upgrade applies for every version of the game FYI.

I also love the different routes you can now take through maps.

yeah, the verticality of them is also great. SO many nooks and crannies. Not sure how it will play out in the longterm but good for now.
Seems like reviewers are getting tired of the formula now reading over some of the reviews. Had to happen at some point.

Seems like the maps cater more to the run and gun style -- I like to play CoD more methodically. Personally, I feel like the map size was perfect in CoD4 and MW2.
Let's be realistic. Anything post mw2 has been a part of the slow decline...oddly enough the sales seem to go up. Without the original minds behind the franchise you can just feel the lack of polish with every new iteration. At least I do.

Most of this thread's post are serious hate towards this game. Looks like a bashing/shitting thread, what I don't get is if you don't like CoD why do you care how mich the game scores?
As long as people have fun and enjoy the ride why would you shit on the amusement because yours is different?
For some people to tink that CoD is overrated there are ither people who think the game delivers greatly.
I, for one, love the formula and will gladly get a PS4 digital copy once the game system is released.

Usually these kind of scores wouldn't be much of an issue. But considering that previous CODs where used to an average 9 out of 10 kind of range, this does show a decline.
Wonder if it's the start of an overall decline or if it'll pick back up next year. The series could do with a facelift. New engine, some new gameplay mechanics instead of just fine tuning old ones. Treyarch sounds like the guys who could pull that off, if they weren't on this constant rotating schedule.
Maybe if Activision could someone else to step in for Treyarch this time round so they could work on all that. Since there's no chance they'd let a year go by without a new COD.
Either way, we won't see any massive sales drop for a while.
