Call of Duty has 2 Shader Pre Compiles on PC and Only XBOX PC hardware can solve that.

Man, I got an itch for extraction type gameplay so I heard Call of Duty Warzone is good now and downloaded that, and I have enough time to make this thread due to, TWO Different game compiles one demanded by the call of duty app and the other of the game you want to play. You can thankfully have them running simultaneously. I assume its like cross game DLC, so it does not stutter when stupid people with money show up on screen.

Only Standardize pc Hardware like the Steamdeck can let one download pre compiled shaders with the game on PC and it works so well. So this could be a killer selling point for xbox, buy the xbox pc and we have the feature parity to linux steamdeck cause of azure. Making this feature in Windows would show real initiative.

Or Microsoft can get off its ass and optimize windows for gaming.

I rather it gets solved for old games too, and not just something they manage in DX13. It's compelling, because when graphic card manufactures have lots of driver updates in a row, one feels it.

It's funny how dumb they are. They spent decades trying to build Xbox, only to see it crash and burn, not realizing the single biggest gaming platform runs on their OS.

Now they struggle to attract people to their shitty stores and Valve is eating their lunch. They should have focused on Windows gaming long ago…oh wait, they tried, but miserably failed because those incompetent morons tried to turn Windows gaming into an Xbox and charge for online. Players told them to fuck off and they stopped until their most recent foray with Game Pass and the Xbox App.

I guess we'll see. I think everyone is assuming they would optimize for their target hardware. They'll still have it available for all PCs but hopefully they streamline updates to get their own stuff closer to a consoles ease of use. Smooth updates is a big part of that.

I haven't played COD in a year, but I have no idea what you're talking about. I only ever experienced one compile whenever I updated drivers

The theoretical future xbox that is coming, that is just a windows version of the xbox OS and a pc game store library compiler.

Shader precompilation is just a loading screen while your CPU compiles shaders, who cares. What sucks is real time shader compilation mid gameplay that causes stutters, those are terrible.

Everything you are saying is %100 correct. Xbox was a failure from the viewpoint of moneymaking and value creation for consumers, but the APIs developed for it were instrumental in keeping Windows and DirectX as a PC hegemony. That's what Bill Gates wanted and that makes them a success in his eyes.

I think Microsoft has failed for a long time to grasp how much potential there really was in building a gaming business that is just a gaming business and not some 4D chess move or an attempt at a "bigger play". That's the real problem that has been holding them back as a platform holder, and imo will continue to hold them back as a big publisher.

If Linux/Proton can do it on every working PC on the planet while running that shit through a compatibility layer, you don't need a standardized box to make it happen.
