Can anyone suggest movies where the failure character is trying to do one good thing?

What other movies have this character as a protagonist?

Unforgiven?

A fair amount of anti-hero stuff is a bad guy trying to do one good deed. Like Black Adam. Even the Bride in Kill Bill, she was no saint, just wanted to get to her kid.

Isn't this sort of the Punisher? That he does good things, by doing bad things. The anti-Batman basically.

Restaurant sequence in Pulp Fiction, climax scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, climax of The Cabin In The Woods (from a cosmic perspective), climax of Donnie Darko, climax of Bad Lieutenant, Polar, Gran Torino (if you believe being a soldier during war time is bad karma), Leon: The Professional, Stand Up Guys, and Time (2021).

Lots of good suggestions in this thread.

Anyone else think Christian Bale was miscast in 3:10 to Yuma? I feel like they got a healthy looking leading man to play a character with weakness as a character trait. I think a Joaquin Pheonix / Adam Driver / Gary Oldman type would have performed the role better.
