God of War game design + hot superheroine + Nemesis system. How do you fuck this up?
Shift Up had success with their first ever AAA action game, but somehow monolith couldn’t do it…
Yeah, seems like it should be an easy slam dunk.
The mindset of the dev team should be "Hey, we have an amazing opportunity here. We can do for Wonder Woman what Arkham Asylum did for Batman."
Tons of gear and equipment to unlock new combat and traversal mechanics. Her Lasso even lends itself well if you want to implement the Nemesis system. At the end of the day, it should be a love letter to the fans of the character the same way Arkham Asylum was. All the little easter eggs hidden in the environments and doing justice to the various villains.
All that being said, based on the quote you guys posted "the world really needed the story we were telling" it would seem that the dev team may have been infiltrated by these activist weirdos. I am pretty sick of their bullshit at this point. They suck at writing likeable characters. There is a reason the first Wonder Woman movie was a success while the followup was a complete disaster.
Who knows....maybe more info will come out so we can actually find out just how bad it was going to be. But yeah, it seems like what should have been a home run turned into a convoluted mess somewhere in development. Monolith, similar to Bioware, is most likely just a name now with most of the old guard having left (or gone insane).
