Yeah I agree with this. Crystal Dynamics seems to be pushing Lara Croft to be a lesbian as well. A couple lesbians is one thing, but when it's a trend that so many Female Leads in gaming are lesbians, it feels performative after a certain point.

That is the 'catering to their audience' that people keep asking for at play. Nobody wants to roleplay a female shagging different men, at least the bigger audience for the game don't. They find the lesbian stuff "hot" though so you always have the option to romance a woman still.

I honestly dont think it matters nearly as much. The times when we did have a straight relationship for a female MC, i dont remember anyone caring.

2-3 critical NPCs will be option interwoven with the main quest lightly and you gotta click Yes on one. You won't see her fucking every chic at the brothel.

They very much like hot women going at it but I don't think they particularly like the idea of genuine female romance; that said male homosexuality is positively repulsive to most men.

If it was easy and legal to edit game stories and characters, it would be interesting to see what the most common male preference would be. Between the following - all hereto romance, mostly hetero and some lesbian romance, and all hetero romance plus some heteroromantic bisexual action.
