What's fake about them?100%
I know, Circana has been based on revenue for a while I just meant that with the $100 early access price tag and the gamepass $30 premium upgrade. It can do well enough to chart at #2 for a week in dollar sales but be low enough in unit sales that the CCU on steam is shit.NPD has been doing dollar sales for games for a while now. It's a bit shit, I prefer units.
What's fake about them?
Depends on the region I suppose? No matter what, it seems to be doing great.
So just so I can understand your point, you're saying that if Phil Spencer is involved in a product, we can't trust any independent tracking of it.Phil Spencer is involved…
Get on with the program.

So all those Circana reports about the low sales of Xbox Series, the low sales of Hellblade 2, and the high sales of Black Ops 2 are 100% fake.
Is that your belief?
You mean fosspatents?I forgot who you were when you changed from that lawsuit guy.

I look back to that time with fond memories. Posting a random tweet of him without any commentary gave the Activision thread enough momentum for additional 20 pages
It almost makes me wish for MS pulling a similar stunt with Take Two some day

We actually have zero idea of how well it sold. Nothing notable released that week. We'll find out soon though.Maybe people are tweeting him, and he is seeing comments about how poor it has supposedly sold on steam due to player counts so he decided to set the record straight that it is actually selling pretty well for a game that launched day one on GamePass.
It is third in the UK, I believe
He got triggered and the regulars in the acquisition thread were having fun? That's not as I remember itYeah, it was hilarious seeing him get triggered over and over again. We had more fun laughing at that guy than discussing the acquisition.
Good times.

Piscatella loves muddying the waters for the benefit of whatever his biases are.Weekly sales data, where no other notable game was released in that week, is quite useless.
Monthly sales chart data and, more importantly, YTD sales chart data will show a much clearer picture.
If he doesn't usually do it, then why is he doing this?
At whose request?
How is he muddying the waters here?Piscatella loves muddying the waters for the benefit of whatever his biases are.
Here is the list of December releasesWhat was #3?
If definitely was.The ABK acquisition thread was great drama filled fun my man.
I'm not sure how that tells me the third best selling game of the week. Here is the list of December releases

Wasn't he that finnish guy who ran the Nokia/Microsoft site as well? Then you remember it wrong. He was the guy going around blocking everyone on twitter.GHG changed his avatar to the one of foss saying "I will block you" because of that guy getting triggered so bad.
Hell.....foss was here on GAF. He wasSoloKingRobert and accidentally exposed himself as foss during all that. It was glorious.

As long as the game isn't a "breakout hit in all key measurements and expectations," the studio should b safe.Tell that to Tango. Fuck knows what the barometer of success is over at MS.

??? Of course it's not. It has 7x smaller CCU peak on Steam. No one will buy it on Xbox because it's on gamepass. It doesn't have PS5 version. It's most likely selling something like 1/5 of DA maybe even less.Does anybody here think this game will sell more than Dragon Age: Veilguard in its first month, compared to DA's first month? Because if not..........

Its not even in the top 40 in its second week in the UK if that's not bomb level don't what to tell you.Yup. It’s bombed massively sales wise.

To bad we're not getting EU charts yet and we have to wait till next month for NA.
I will likely do my part and buy it on ps5 despite knowing it’s got some flaws
Hopefully machine games sees the reception as enough of a success
I'm guessing they'll be recognizing some kind of revenue for putting it on gamepass but maybe never specifically on a balance sheet. Imaginary numbers on a spreadsheet.I hope you are wrong. But if you're right, that means it would have sold around 100,000 units world-wide in the first month. And that's hard to believe to be honest. We are talking $7 million in revenue in the first month if it sales 1/5 of DA in the first month. And I'd never believe this game didn't cost between $100m-$150m to make.
It's likely sold less than Veilguard overall but I think it will do better in countries that Indiana Jones was at some point popular, like NA. You might see it chart in the top 10 somewhere on Circana specifically. Especially as December releases were fairly weak. Globally it's likely sold poorly though.??? Of course it's not.
