NPD has been doing dollar sales for games for a while now. It's a bit shit, I prefer units.

I know, Circana has been based on revenue for a while I just meant that with the $100 early access price tag and the gamepass $30 premium upgrade. It can do well enough to chart at #2 for a week in dollar sales but be low enough in unit sales that the CCU on steam is shit.

Maybe people are tweeting him, and he is seeing comments about how poor it has supposedly sold on steam due to player counts so he decided to set the record straight that it is actually selling pretty well for a game that launched day one on GamePass.

We actually have zero idea of how well it sold. Nothing notable released that week. We'll find out soon though.

??? Of course it's not. It has 7x smaller CCU peak on Steam. No one will buy it on Xbox because it's on gamepass. It doesn't have PS5 version. It's most likely selling something like 1/5 of DA maybe even less.

I hope you are wrong. But if you're right, that means it would have sold around 100,000 units world-wide in the first month. And that's hard to believe to be honest. We are talking $7 million in revenue in the first month if it sales 1/5 of DA in the first month. And I'd never believe this game didn't cost between $100m-$150m to make.

I'm guessing they'll be recognizing some kind of revenue for putting it on gamepass but maybe never specifically on a balance sheet. Imaginary numbers on a spreadsheet.

It's likely sold less than Veilguard overall but I think it will do better in countries that Indiana Jones was at some point popular, like NA. You might see it chart in the top 10 somewhere on Circana specifically. Especially as December releases were fairly weak. Globally it's likely sold poorly though.
