Clarkson's Farm

I don't know if you like Top Gear/Grand Tour show or presenters. But one of them has made a genuinely great Farming show on Amazon Prime. Clarkson's Farm is a fish out of water show that is genuine and fun and unique. All the people on the show are amazing characters. Gerald and Caleb are real standouts with Charlie being the deliverer of real news. If you have Prime subscription do yourself a favor and watch it.

Not seen it yet

I know they get a lot of hate, and rightly so sometimes, but I still find them entertaining regardless

Series has been fantastic. The guy is just made for content and he’s super down to earth.

I’m at the second to last episode and don’t want to finish.

What is it about? Is it a reality show?
It is a show filming people farming. And it just goes into what it takes to run a farm in the English countryside in an entertaining way. It is all real people....not really scripted.

Really fabulous show. To be honest, its a refreshing break from top gear / grand tour. All 3 have now had good shows.
But this is undoubtedly the best.

Yep binged it this past week between the Euro's.

Fantastic series, was expecting Clarkson just to be running around screaming POWAH! In his Lambo tractor but it actually surprised me how he actually gives a damn and came up with some good ideas for helping out wildlife. Caleb, Gerald, and Charlie were all great characters his girl friend Lisa was lovely, Loved Ellen how she was wrestling the sheep and shepherding them.

Hoping for a S2

It’s hell and no amount of technology will make it not being gruelling, hard work. My in-laws are farmers, it’s crazy how hard they work.
Me and my wife try and source as much locally as possible. Meat from a butchers or fruit and veg from markets is so much nicer than supermarket packaged produce plus it helps support our local economy.

I just hope there's enough young folks willing to run farms otherwise I can see food shortages in the future. I personally couldn't manage a farm of Clarksons size but I'd love a couple acres and have a go at being self sufficient.

Sorry for DP:

Yeh Farming is a lot of hard work. When I was a kid I had friends whose family owned Farms and I hardly saw their dads as they were always working. Hat's off to Farmers they do work buying local is the best way 👍

Watched the first two episodes so far. it's great. I really find Clarkson to be one of the funniest people out there. His humor aligns with mine very well.

Welll....never thought I'd subscribe to a streaming service specicially to watch a farming show. But here we are.

Looks great and the impressions on here have me looking forward to checking it out this weekend.

I thought that Hammond desert island thing was an absolute piece of crap. Way too over scripted and over produced. Clarkson and May’s stuff had been quality though.
It was great with a few beers and fun on a rewatch with my family. It was clever dumb fun. I would have preferred a straight up show without the faux story, but the kids liked that part...

It was entertaining and educational.

Is there any killing, animals dying or unnecessary blood and guts in this?

I don’t mind a steak, I don’t need to see a cow being electrocuted though.

I'll give it a watch and see how it lines up with farming in Australia. I gather he's concentrating on smaller sized farms, nothing too big in scale. But that's where you meet the real people.

You can fit England into Australia how many times? A couple of thousand? So yeah, it would be a smaller sized farms compared to Oz ones, but a decent enough size for an English one.

True, but you have farms here that range from say 10 - 20 acre to a million acres. The real big farms are generally cereal crop or livestock. I vegetable farm, and the biggest I know of is about 6000 acres, which is massive. We farm 200 acres.

A quick Google tells me his is 1000 acres if that helps?

Only the reality of lambing, and life on a farm, nature being nature

Also the farm is around 1000 acres, but he is only harvesting around 450 of it i believe.......I think that right

I've binged this show two times over. It's just epic, every minute of it is absolutely fantastic. Clarkson is a damn genius, everything he does is extremely entertaining.

The other guys are great as well. Charlie with his knowledge and calmness. Kaleb seems like a nice guy also working very hard. Lisa seems like a sweetheart.

And ofcourse my favorite, Gerald the head of security :messenger_tears_of_joy: such a great guy.

And you know these people are real, because if you grew up in the countryside anywhere in the western world, you probably know the same kind of guys in any country.

I have to say this show 10/10 must watch.
