College Football 2013 |Week 1| - Death Throes

Brian Fellows

Pete Carroll Owns Me
I went back to high school games for a few years because I had friends and ex-teammates(from baseball and basketball) on the team.

Couldn't ask for a better start to the season. Nike needs to get Jaboo some sort of monogrammed pantyhose thing for his hair though. That generic one is looking a little too cheap for my liking.

Jameis Winston: "I'm an OU fan but I always wanted to go to Texas. If I'd gotten offer from Texas I'd be going to Texas right now"

Jameis Winston wanted to go to Texas but was never offered: "Dang, I'm good enough for Alabama & Auburn but not good enough for Texas"

Imagine what a safety he could've been.

If you still have friends in high school (i.e. teammates or band mates), then it's cool to go back until they graduate I guess. I went back to a game the year after I graduated to see my old friends from marching band.

If you live in an area with good football programs, then it's fun to do. I'm from the Tampa area, and my dad and I would go to a good high school if we had nothing better to do on a Friday night when I'm home from school. School's like Armwood, H.B. Plant, and Hillsborough are pretty big, and the games are usually televised with a bunch of people.

That's an exception though. It's not weird because it's just a tradition with my old man. We saw Tebow before he went to Florida, and it's neat to kinda follow up-and-coming players and recruits.

But if you go to a high school football by yourself... I guess that's a little weird.

My HS has been to the playoffs 3 times in seventy something years, so there is that

But when I have schools like Hoover, TCHS, and Hillcrest around, I guess it isn't too bad

This is hilarious, certainly enough to get Mack fired. How do you pass up the #1 qb in the nation for connor brewer(who transferred out already)

Yea, I'm definitely going to need to see a source on that quote before I even attempt to believe it.

You guys have had problems in the past. He'll have to get past that first.

I have two classes with him this semester and one last semester. It would really, really surprise me to see him do something scumbaggy or douchey. The guy likes attention, but he's literally all about putting smiles on people's faces. Like literally. He's really happy-go-lucky and generally a really, really nice guy.

Cam and JFF were/are always douchey. They were always/are cocky, and anyone could see that. Jameis isn't cocky, he's just confident. He doesn't rub it in people's faces or show off, which is really something that's taken me by surprise. He loves the limelight not so he can show off, but because he knows he has what it takes to be in it. He's just beaming with self-confidence.

Fun story: on the first day of classes last Monday, I was coming out of the English building. Jameis was standing there with Josue Matias (OL), and there are dozens upon dozens of students walking across the street in front. Jameis is literally yelling at the top of his lungs, "Hey! I hope everyone has a wonderful first day of classes! It's gonna be a good day!" I was cracking up standing next to him just watching his antics. Every person that walked by he would say "You're going to have a great day today!" Ian Miller (star of the basketball team) happened to walk by across the street, and Jameis yells over everyone "Hey everyone! That's Ian Miller! Say hello to everyone, Ian!" It was just hilarious to see all of the people around cracking up. The guy's standing on a street corner talking to everyone.

He wasn't doing any of this to be douchey. I go to the "#1 Party School in the Nation", so I'm well accustomed to douchey and cocky assholes. He was doing it just to make a few people laugh on the first day of classes. That's when I really began to jump on the Jameis bandwagon and respect the guy.

I then later found out he was in one of my classes later that day and another the following day. The guy's smart as heck too. Although he does get fancy golf cart escorts to his classes while I have to walk my fatass around campus in the blistering nutsack heat of Florida.

We are perfectly happy with David Ash. We're modeling our offense like Alabama's so we're looking for a game manager, not a game changer. He'll drive the bus and our spectacular defense will win us championships just like Alabama. I mean sure our defense last year gave up more yards than any Texas team in history, but we don't need a QB that makes plays to compensate for our defensive woes. Alabama doesn't have defensive woes, and we are trying to be like Alabama. Alabama. Nick Saban. nicksaban-texasfootball.com

So what you're telling us is that Texas has gone full Aggy, Single White Female style.
