Not terrible. Looking forward to the Call of Duty campaign, and that's obviously a great value add for 2 weeks.

I already have Ashen, Donut County, South Park. Adding old games is literally pointless for me 99% of the time and if this is the way GP is going to go it will be a useless service for me like PS+ Extra.

Not getting Starcraft on console at all is a bummer. I don't understand why they wouldn't treat it like the Age of Empire games after a year of having Activision. Big disappointment, and to not even comment on it when revealing these is worse.

Mechwarrior 5 I know nothing about. I'll have to look into it, but hopefully this is fun. Day 1 addition so good. Unreal 5 game. Will give it a try since I'm new to the series.

Recommend people beat Frog Detective if they like funny hipster indie games. I thought it was great. Short, with a nice OST. Made me laugh more than once.

Hope folks jump in a realize how great those games are. Starcraft is the most underutilized IP in gaming, imo.
The original and sequel is like top 10 or 20 in lifetime PC sales. I would say it's doing just fine for an RTS franchise.

Yeah, it sucks. I've played the first one million years ago and loved it and would like to get back into the franchise. If it does well, I'm pretty sure they will eventually port it to consoles. If you could play, let's say, Halo Wars on consoles with a controller, you could do SC as well.

Anyway, only two games for me. Have the rest.

When I say "underutilized", I'm not talking about sales. I'm talking about new entries in the franchise.

Plus playstation and Steam are more than happy to subsidise with that sweet-sweet CoD revenue.

I mean.....that's just what third party publishers do.

Hopefully they announce some indies for GP at this show on the 17th because they're slipping a bit on the indies. For me, the last game I'm playing gets added on 10/25, but they have Starcraft on 11/5 so that's nearly 2 weeks of nothing for console GP. And it's not like indie and AA games aren't coming out this year. Been tons of them dominating the year for me.

Still worth it just for CoD alone in terms of monetary value (saving $50 just this month playing that game so it pays for itself), but I prefer when they are showcasing more day one indies. And we know a lot of these small games are fine taking the GP deals. Conscript, Crow County, Neva, Keylocker, Cryptmaster, Kill Knight, Parcel Corps, Empire of Ants, Death Come True, To the Moon, Sky Oceans, Squirrel with a Gun. They used to be a bit better at picking out the truly hidden gems over and over. Hopefully they get back to that. We did get Dungeons of Hinterberg and Flintlock, but a lot of the rest is more mainstream stuff this year.

So when it says "Cloud" on MW3, that means you can't download the game and play it offline? You have to use the XCloud service to play it? If so, that seems like an odd choice...

Starcraft 1 + Brood Wars were so fucking good. Still better than most console exclusives.

Dead Island 2 is awesome, so if you're on PC and didn't play it yet.. try it, was seriously impressed how good it looks and runs on consoles, plus to me it's the most fun to date first person zombies game

Not much else here for me, but still the trio (hopefully nothing delayed) Black Ops, Stalker and indi. :)

I think it has the right amount of entries compared to something like the Command & Conquer franchise. SC2 being drawn out makes it seem like it has less. I'd love to see a SC3 but I feel like the genre just hasn't aged well in general.

They could have expanded into other genres like Warhammer 40k has done. Doesn't really matter anymore since Blizzard isn't the same Blizzard that made those classic games anyway.

I almost feel like nobody wants to do it because they would instantly compare it to Ghost and start asking for it again.

Both Statcraft I and II stories are among the best in the industry.

God, I miss the old Blizzard.
Yeah. That Blizzard was really amazing. Actually correction: Starcraft team was amazing. After all those years after Starcraft 1 they delivered Starcraft 2.

In the meanwhie another team at Blizzard destroyed Diablo 2's legacy with that abominable Diablo 3 :messenger_unamused:
