CYBERPUNK 2077 |OT2| The Last Samurai [>56K Warning_]

Yeah some really dark and fucked up stuff in the game.

There are more crazy side quests, won't soil anything.
Yeah this wasn't even the worst one. Well, it might be the most 'fucked up', or at least tied with the one involving the convict contemplating a particular mode of suicide, but I found two or three other side jobs more unnerving. Good stuff. Great world building all around.

I haven't touched the game since release, was waiting for all the patches. That said, I'm itching to play, so want to know how the game currently is now? I'm on XBone.

when is the next big patch out?
They haven't said. This is the best we've got so far:

I need Blood and Wine sized DLC focused on waifu Panam; that's my #1 priority.

Considering all the different endings you can pick, the DLC will almost certainly happen before the ending, aka before you talk to Hanako. Is the Panam story line something that is skippable? It must be something canon.

Patch 1.2 may come out today or tomorrow ( almost every patch has released on Fridays at 6:00 PM EST, and it's been a month since the latest big patch, patch 1.1); otherwise next week; unlesssssss... a yellow screen comes out out of nowhere informing us about the February patch getting delayed till March.

I believe they will launch it next week (if not delayed till March)

They still have one week left in February. And one week can make a lot of difference in dev time.

Yeah, unfortunately whatever story DLC we get will probably happen before the point of no return. The Panam side quest line that branches off her involvement in the main quest is indeed optional (but you can't get the 'best' ending if you skip it). Though with how that ending turns out an expansion could certainly go that direction, but that does bring up the issue of 'canon'.

So Panam is skippable, same with the Rogue part if you're below 60% with Johnny. Is Judy's storyline also skippable? I think it'll probably be all independent of all of the other characters.

Where the game (so far) has come up short, especially when compared to Witcher 3, is with side quests. The beauty of TW3's side quests is that even the most mundane looking side quest had some kind of twist. One of my favorites was fairly early in the game that involved a werewolf that ended with decisions that felt like you were actually making a difference. With a couple of exceptions here and there Cyberpunk (again, so far) doesn't quite attain that same magic.

Yeah, that was a good quest. The Side Jobs are the ones that have more work put into them. The Side Gigs are lower tier quests, and feel worse than some of the lowest tier quests in Witcher 3. But the side jobs here have a lot more effort put into them compared to Witcher 3. You come across more of these as you progress.
You guys mean gigs ( what you get from fixers), in comparison to quests you get from Notice boards in Witcher? I think this depends on what you prefer more. They definitely put a lot more effort into environment design ( for gigs) than any open world ( or even far smaller games) to date. The variety of locations you visit is really impressive. Some really have a lot of ways you can approach them ( like Woman of La Mancha). And a lot of scenarios are just cool: like rescuing a former cop that was being tortured at a small mental ward/hospital. And they've put a lot more effort into environmental storytelling and worldbuilding: everything is tied to characters, events and quests in some way.
In general, I liked more those that had some dialogue and outcomes. ( like deciding what to do with father/son duo at that BDS studio).
Witcher in comparsion, was a lot more simpler on all of those things: but overall had more dialogue, sometimes cutscenes and side quests would sometimes have their own "mini plot" twists.

I just did some quest where you help the Nomads do a deal with some Scavs. They remember that first mission you did where you rescue that woman. One of the options is one of the most badass moments I have seen in a game.

Yeah Panam and Judy have mandatory quests up to a point, with the side quest chains being totally optional. Different lay of the land than Witcher 3 in terms of DLC possibilities. I guess we'll see.

The free DLC will probably be mostly minor things like cars and guns. We'll see what they do with the bigger packs.

tbh, free guns and cars seems a major disappointment considering how good that's already in the game. Can't think of any gun that'll be better or cooler than the smart short gun that blows off all limbs and the head, or the other awesome guns. I'd rather see something more special, but the DLC will almost certainly involve a heist at the casino.

Does anyone know if the Arasaka building remains open in the game? If not, what would be the highest point a player can get without having to be in a quest? Talking about “real” pathways too. So stuff like the mono rail don’t count.

No, you have to use sploits to enter it during the game.

I believe the highest point would be the Blade Runner easter egg place.

Edit: One of Kerry's missions, actualy

Do we have any ETA regarding 1.2 patch? Wasn't it supposed to be in February?

This time we could, I guess, expect something more than minor bug fixing?

nothing but silence from CDPR but yeah it's meant to be out this month.

i expect whenever they decide to bother releasing it then it will be just more of the same that we got in the last patch.

That roadmap is so usless, they can't even roadmap right, didn't anyone ever tell them you're supposed to be generalized dates on these things, like "Q1", "Summer" etc. or did someone steal their roadmap source code too?

that would suck, because the last one did nothing spectacular....

At the moment I am courious what real improvements we can expect. Although I think the biggest issues will not be changed.

Hopefully they will at least fix it for the consoles.

According to their roadmap the February patch is the start of the major improvements block. So we'll see I guess. I stopped playing about halfway through to wait for the next gen patch anyway.

It's actually harmful to give (even generalized) dates if you're not confident you can keep up with them.

I haven't played this for ages because of the crashes the ps5 is getting. Some people tell me crashes have been fixed and other say they are still prevalent. Which is it lol?

This criticism is so useless, you can't even criticize right. Didn't anyone tell you to use sources and references instead of some generalized barf like this above?

I haven't had a single crash since some patches ago, the game in its current state is worth a play in my opinion, you can always replay it later when free DLC's, expansions an all have been released.

I'd say, go play it.

Not had a single crash in ages (on XSX), but it wasn't uncommon before the last patch. I have 3 complete playthroughs, the game is great even though there are some physics bugs and such here and there, it's nothing game breaking anymore.

These guys are way beyond redemption on this project to care about any more harm.
I don't disagree actually, i was just pointing out that the dates (or even rough estimates) are missing from the roadmap as a choice, not for a mistake.

Too bad the 1.2 patch log wasn't leaked lol. Seems to be their biggest update yet, and I'll probably continue playing when this one hits.

I think 1.2 was supposed to come out in February, but the clock is ticking on February now.

Will be interested to see how things go for you...I still get crashes on PS5, perhaps less but still there for sure.

Bollocks I'll leave it then. I can take the bugs but not the crashes.
I mean it got really bad at one point 4 crashes in one night (when I was playing 8 hours at a time) and that hasnt happened lately...more like either one or no crashes...but im playing less also and shorter sessions ...the crashes seem linked to how long you play. Certainly not much difference after the first and second patch though. Ironically I had very few bugs, even less than some PC complainants. Crowds were medium density though as I certainly had fewer crowds than PC, which I assume was the same for all consoles. Would be interesting to know whether the crowd density was a factor of the framerate, as the PS5 ran pretty smooth 45-60 most of the time.

Just had to say how absurd the Claire quest chain is.

Street races.... where each driver has someone riding shotgun (literally) trying to pump lead into the other competitors. Outrageous lol.

(Yeah there's the shoehorned trans thing, but meh, it was handled okay I suppose. Didn't bother me. And my V would still probably nail Claire if she was down.)

I just did that quest last night. Bravo CDPR, I did not have nailing a dude to a cross on my Cyberpunk 2077 bingo card.

The further i get into this game the more I'm liking it.

I just completed the game I really liked it despite everything. I posted my thoughts on the story in the spoiler thread. I do wish it was longer but when gamers complain about long games what do you expect Devs to do?

What’s this highlight effect on the mobs? They need immersion shooting. Like deadspace I guess. But advanced. It’s like a form of downgrading. Or maybe the mobs were too far away when I watched. Remember that ps4 gta5 first person trailer? Maybe AI is not good enough. Like on rail shooters? Bigger models?

Dodged a bullet not getting this on release, especially as I was curious rather then a open world fan. Worth dipping my toes now on PS5? Has it improved or still "Meh" for a semi casual but keen gamer?

I am playing on the X Box Series X and while it is not perfect I personally very much enjoyed the experience. I don't know how it would be for you. Watch some gameplay videos on youtube that are dated more recently and decide if it is for you or not.
