Less than 1 hour for the 10 min footage.

So this is going to be a thread of people getting mad at DF and calling them fanboys (the irony) for bringing out the technical data that proves PS5 PRO is not what they would like it to be.

800€ for this, close to 1k if you want a disk drive

Guys seriously, it's time to switch to PC.
Lots of people don't like PC gaming and have a massive library of PlayStation games. This offers a good image upgrade for them if they are so inclined.

They kind of made it out to seem as if they received exclusive footage when in reality it's just the 4K upload of the presentation. We're at the point where a 6 second snippet of gameplay is lending to 8 minutes worth of speculation.

What if they have good things to say as well?

Each second contains 60 frames to analyse and compare, no more is needed, but I guess many are now in denial.

Indeed they do, but that this is not what people expected is undoubtedly the case. It's just a slightly more powerful PS5 with better IQ thanks to AI upscaler.

45% more powerful with ML hardware included to improve upscaling quite a bit. We've known this for quite some time and we didn't need DF to tell us that. How it translates into actual game improvements are to be determined and this video is not end of that discussion.

Perhaps time for reserving judgement? Ya think?

Even on the Alan Wake 2 clip you can see they cooked.

Is it a 4070? No, but it has fixed the worst problem of the actual gen consoles, the artifact and flicker/shimmer festival, much better image quality overall yep

Wonder if anyone has the AW2 Pro scenes captured on XSX or PS5, i bet it'd look way worse

That's a compromise I can understand depending on how much you can sell your PS5.

There will always be time to buy a PC instead of a PS6 tho.

I've tried PC gaming and it's just not for me. It's PIA to use from my couch compared to a console. If they fix that then I will consider it.

Yeah, what we didn't know was the price and how that improvement was going to be represented in the games, and what they've shown so far (which they've shown to sell the console) doesn't represent that giant improvement that many were hoping for. No PC level raytracing, no high internal resolutions, PSSR is good but not that good (and certainly not better than DLSS).

And it's still better than anything we currently have..which is very little.

Sony opened themselves up to this by deciding to take the low-details/low-transparency route

A $700 console who's entire market fit is based on better specs is being sold with the same level of detail as Nintendo would give. "New features like Super HD/Super Rumble"

Clear upgrade on Hogwarts props to them delivering that at 60FPS. Window looks massively better and the obvious raytracing reflection.

You wouldn't know it just listening to the audio. They spent majority of the segment talking about RT artifacts on the utensils which are 100x less prominent than the RT reflections on the ground or boost to overall scene IQ.

Edit: Hogwarts dining hall scene is 30fps.

DLSS is much more mature so that should be expected. PSSR will mature as well. AI upscaling is not like some static piece of hardware that never changes.

I don't know who this "many" you are talking about here is. The fact that PSSR even comes close to DLSS is massive positive surprise for me at this point. I've said many time that PSSR may be the tech that sells me on this thing.

But you seem dead on determined to come to conclusions right here, right now. Again...I think it is best to reserve judgement. But you are free to write this thing off and do what you want with your money, obviously, if this isn't for you.

Tales from my ass. Everyone but the most delusional fanboys where expecting exactly that: no shimmering pixels on feathers because FSR shat the bed. You're building a narrative where we saw a 15TF machine and expected a 4090 because it suits you. No, the machine is a massive W. The price is a massive L, but don't come here saying people were expecting PS7 performance out of this box.

Edit: damn Topher Topher beat me to it.

I'll watch the video soon and see what they say. Shame about the 30FPS, hopefully they can get it to 60 with this level of RT etc for launch.
