Did buy the last one but quit d4 a couple weeks ago. It's just not fun farming obducite for an entire day and half to fail to fucking masterwork 1 and only 1 item perfectly. Crazy how long it takes to make a little add on really, I'll have a look at the new one but I don't think I'll ever go back to be honest.

I really enjoyed the campaign, treated as a single player game I can’t really fault it & got a decent 20/30hrs with side questing and exploring.

I picked up the expansion on sale over the holidays - and again, got a good 10/15hrs out of the campaign which felt fine for the (sale) price. Though the writing is slop, watered down, play it safe box ticking & there’s no real climax or satisfaction in the base game or the expansion. There’s also no Diablo. No doubt he’ll pop up in 5 or 6 years in the last expansion.

As an ARPG/seasonal loot grinder it’s boring as heck & pales next to Diablo 2 & Path of Exile. Loot is pumped out constantly and more an annoyance rather than a sense of reward. It’s like they’re appealing to the absolute lowest common denominator with the game design. There’s really nothing to grow or work towards as you’re already blasting screens of enemies within 10 minutes anyway. You don’t get that transformative sense of growth and satisfaction as you would from a D2 or PoE build coming slowly together.

I’ve tried a few times to get into this game but it seems intent on boring the shit out of me. I’m not a fan of the open-world nature of the game, especially when that open-world is drab.
It is incredibly boring. Even during the campaign I was wishing it would end sooner. I think early on in the campaign it had so much promise but then it turned out the progression and depth was so shallow that basically after 10 hours you kinda saw everything there is to see.

Path of Exile 2 just blows this game out of the water. It's more of a Diablo 4 than D4 will ever be. Where is Diablo even ffs lol, expansion #10 in 2033??

I just couldn’t get into D4 couple times I tried on free demo days. It seemed bland, boring and open world was annoying. And I am only talking about trying to play the story.

And I don’t have high bar for ARPGs as I quite liked D3 due to its combat fluidity (after the expansion and other changes).

This game is dull and incredibly boring, I'm aways surprised to see people liking this. Maybe they just want some time wasting trash pleasure or a reminder of better days.

I still think Diablo 4 is the second-most disappointing thing they've made. They just took Diablo III, made it more "gothic" so that all the terminally online retards are happy and made it a live service game. There's nothing that's interesting about Diablo IV. It's actually remarkable how boring this whole thing is.

I just … don’t care. And that’s such a shame. I have well over 1500 hours in Diablo 3 across various platforms. It’s so fun to blast through the campaign in local co op, or mess around in late game dungeons. D4 is just such a slog. I didn’t even bother getting the last expansion.

Maybe in a few years when they release the full fat edition on consoles with an offline mode I’ll jump back in.

Right now it feels like it need years worth of work to not only finish the story but make the game less tedious.

Big hype for this. I don't care for the jungle aesthetic in VoH, but the refinements to the gameplay systems and QoL in general are huge. D4 is in a perfect state right now for I want in a modern Diablo game.

Diablo was free like all of December and I didn't bother downloading it again to try the new class. Such a boring game. GAAS game design decisions kills another storied franchise. Blizzard has to be in serious trouble at this point, only WoW is keeping them afloat.

I have fun with it it, but I relaunched D3, and man, it has so much more oomph. I think I'll replay the series backwards.

I've been playing it. To the contrary of everyone else, it was the leveling/campaign that sucked for me and the game only got good in the endgame.

There is no challenge in the game at all until you ding level 60 and beat a tier 20 pit to unlock torment 1. After that the seasonal activity this time is actually fun, the borrowed powers are cool and easy to grind, and the gear chase is pretty fun. There are lots of viable builds on my rogue so I've been having a blast. To each their own. I just started playing for the first time at the end of last season. I also loved D3. D2 feels a bit too slow for me but back in the day it was my goat.

I doubt I'll be playing it for a year(probably more like for another couple of weeks), but maybe one day I'll play the next xpak. I got about 90 hours so far and they have been a good fun 90 hours. Well worth my 40 or 50 bucks for the game+xpak. My rogue and spiritborne are also super hot and half naked women so that helps.

My xpak came with 2 level 50 boosts in the eternal realm I think, which when applied let me skip collecting alters of lillith even on seasonal, so getting that head start on the season collection also felt good. I'm currently running a 140 paragon flurry rogue that uses the frostburn gloves for CC. Super fun stuff and I made the build up myself!

I'd love to see the player counts on this. I actually like D4 and think it's better than D2, but Diablo in general just feels dated and there's better ARPGs out there. The subreddit is absolutely dead compared to how it was the first few months of release.

There's a hilarious post on Reddit about how playing Diablo 4 is only boring because of the steady pace putting your brain in the same place as driving down a straight highway and you should try standing up.

I'm not joking

What time is it?
Diablo 2 still has me hooked. Diablo 4 can’t match it for me… no idea why.

I only played through the campaign once so take it with a grain of salt, but the power/difficulty curve felt really flat which led to a monotonous experience.
