Digital Foundry: John Refunded Lollipop Chainsaw Repop... Just How Bad Is It?

He was done in less than 30 seconds.

FFS what has happened to NeoGAF? There's more posts here about him refunding it because of the sex stuff than posts about why he actually refunded it. The port is a complete mess, that's why.

It's called, wait for it... jokes.
I seriously doubt it these days, it feels like most of you see "DF" and it turns you into retards, shit gets old fast. We pretty much have posters who don't watch or read the content, wait for someone to start some fake news, then echo chamber that bitch.

Jokes can be funny but when the thread basically becomes commenting on false information then it's out of hand.

Oh no, people might believe my joke that John masturbated to the sexy waifu and refunded since it only lasted 30 seconds.

Edit: But I also agree with you as well.

It started before you posted that.

It just feels like recently in any DF thread most of you end up arguing about things DF don't even say. It's like you want to revel in false information because it allows you to hate DF.

Don't collect me into your little pot. I only comment on things they have done and said, need not make things up.

I remember watching a performance review for the switch version and it was atrocious, running with an unlocked framerate and dropping in the teens quite often.

I swear to god, John Linneman is quickly becoming a bad take machine. I played through the game on PC. Yes, it's dramatically heavier than it should be, but it looks and plays great. I compared it to the PS3 version running under RPCS3, and I much preferred the way the remaster looks. The original game looks like a PS360-era UE3 game with the requisite yellow/orange filter slapped on top of it, while the remaster looks much more alive and less generic. On top of that, they actually went in and added additional geometry, reflections, etc. that really fill out the look of the game even further. They also made some gameplay tweaks which make the game feel a bit tighter and just better to play.

Wow, a lot of people really didn't watch the clip like... at all.

It does sound like the game's a bit of a disaster - as much as I'm down to replay the game, it feels like yet another release where I'm better off just waiting for 3ish months for it to get fixed. Not that it solves the licensed music issue, but... y'know.

Yeah, quite bizarre (and honestly embarrassing for the posters involved).

As for the game, I was never particularly interested in grasshoppers games, not my cup of tea.
But this thing should be running with no issues on Switch and should only be running better on other systems.

Disclaimer: I'm not really interested in this game.

Apparently the game was ported to Unreal Engine 5.3 for no apparent reason (no UE5-specific features) so it's incurring a performance penalty for no visual benefit.

That describes most games released these days. Even the lauded Silent Hill 2 remake had game-breaking bugs and poor performance at launch, and is getting fixes and even alterations post-release. Looking forward to eventually playing it when they're done.

Porting itself wasn't the problem, can't say for sure about the console versions, but on the PC version the game ships with no performance settings at all and all UE5 settings are defaulted to their Max/Ultra presets, which causes the game to have pretty bad performance on most mid rigs.

The only way to fix this is to go to the games folder and make changes to the .ini files manually.

Yep, wait 6 months and buy in sale is more pertinent than ever. Well, if it's a Ubisoft or Paradox game, wait a year.

Log into their Patreon and tell him you posted that; you might get a free month, cheerleader.
Dude you literally went into a thread about the technical performance of a port with an ad hominem that has nothing to do with anything whatsoever. A five year old would conduct himself better.

A bad port is a bad port, just because you don't like someone isn't going to change that.

Over exaggerated.
And they just released a update that gives you a performance mode.

The original is better on RPCS3, it seems.
I've played through it once, 4k/60fps... I enjoyed the shit out of it, for what it was. I also love Hey Mickey. I grew up n the fucking 80s. 🧐

His wife is French and he lives in France. He's out of touch. It's the same with the head of 8-4, who has lived in Japan for decades.
Again this nonsense. This is a country when women fought against MeToo by saying men should be allowed to compliment them. In Paris no woman will go out without nice clothes and a make up. People were asking to going back to the office since office culture is strong here.

i was responding to someone else's post. I dont have any issue with John but sometimes they hint at things and as an American, living in America, he seems out of touch with life in the States. Same with the guy who runs 8-4, also someone I dont have any issue with.
