Do you love snow?

I am here in Pennsylvania just waiting for our first real snow and hoping it happens. Last year was a total bust for snow. Give me another Snowmageddon I say.

I love the silence that a snowstorm brings, especially here in an urban area. But nothing beats walking around in the cold after a good snow. Silent except the snow under your feet and for some reason the cold air feels refreshing and fresh.

How do you feel about snow?

Fuck snow.

My dad's best friend said it best:
"The first time you see snow, you say 'Ooooo it's snowing! I love snow!' The next time, you say 'Oh it's snowing. Yeah, snow's cool.' Give it a few years and then you'll say 'Ah crap it's snowing again.'"

I hate snow.

Waking up with nothing to do, looking outside your window and see your yard is being covered with fresh snow is the best feeling in the world.

snow sucks dick. makes me want to move south, but then i realize i'd have to live near gun totin, black hating jerks

Absolutely hate it. Got a foot of snow last year and was without electricity for 4 days. Then I had to cut up a huge fallen tree.

Edit: though as a kid, there was nothing better than waking up and being told that school was cancelled because of snow.

I like the idea of snow.

I don't like shoveling..

or driving in it.

I miss being a kid and having a day off without having to shovel that shit and just generally have a mini vacation.

Those days are over and I would have to wake up extra early shovel myself out, struggle to get to work and possibly die.

fuck that shit.

so in conclusion...fuck snow.

I'm a fan, but I live in the south, and they're fairly rare, especially one that sticks around for more than a day or so.

I love the atmosphere of it though. Gray skies, dampened sound.

I can understand the amusement of it being short-lived if a person lives up north and has to deal with it on a regular basis. Down here though, it's a novelty.

The downside is that no one or their mom seems to know how to drive in it.

I love it. Winter isn't winter without snow. But, I'm really sick of the power outages that always seem to happen in my area (Northern Virginia) whenever we get a big snowfall. I really wish we'd just bite the bullet and pay to bury the lines. I'd definitely be willing to pay more on my electric bill for that infrastructure improvement to take place.

If I ever win the powerball, a natural gas whole house generator is the first thing on the list (after the house :)).

Snow is fucking awesome. It looks awesome and really eases the never ending darkness. I can't understand people who hate snow at these latitudes.

I haven't seen snow since I went to Washington state 14 years ago. Even now I couldn't remember what it was like, I was only 3 at the time.

My preconception of snow is that they're smooth like ice cream or silk. So imagine my crushing disappointment when I eventually found out that they're actually coarse like shaved ice. :(

Of course.

We had two years of really heavy snow, then absolutely fuck all last year. Seems like it's gonna be the same this year too.

Snow is pretty soft when it first falls.

I'll love snow when grown ass adults learn to handle their shit and drive in it properly.

The amount of morons that lose their damned minds when it snows kills me, without fail.

I can understand if it's your first snowfall, but if you live in a region with regular snow and still haven't figured this shit out? Time to feed your tail pipe exhaust into your cabin.

I love it right until I have to get somewhere. Snow fucking sucks here, so many delayed and cancelled trains/busses, slows down driving a lot and makes cycling pretty impossible at times, which has had me walk to work the last weeks time.

It looks so pretty though, this was at my dads summer house during the week.

Well my office closes when we have a bad snow so I still get that. Apartment manager shovels.

I like snow as long as it's not too cold out (like upper 20s is okay), I don't have to walk in it, or drive in it.

The real problem is when it melts, it makes everything muddy for a month

Snow is nice to look at, it can make things seem brighter and less depressing

When you're young, it's great because you get to play in the snow and possibly not have to go to school

When you're older, you have to shovel the snow, and drive in terrible traffic

It's nice to look at. I like how it muffles the sound. It also reflects a lot of light, so it helps with the dark winter days.

It's a pain to drive in and shovel. Also, Calgary never shuts down ever, so you have to drive to work/school no matter how bad the snow is.

Pretty much.

I'm from the Caribbean but I go to school in Canada. First time experiencing snow was last year and I love it (except when it turns to slush and makes you slide all over the place).

I like it until it starts melting into wet slushy bullshit. If it stayed cold and the snow didn't melt? Sure. But it usually doesn't work like that around here.

Snow itself looks pretty and lights everything up, but when people start cleaning it up that problems start occuring. The ground gets slippery and there's fugly mountains of snow next to the roads.

Depends on how much snow we're talking. A thin layer just covering the ground? Fine with me. So much I have to shovel the driveway and brush a ton of snow off my car before I have to scrape layers of frost off the windows? Fuck that shit to Hell.

The deal is temperatures are too damn warm. Going to hit 8-9 degrees (that's 46-48F) this week. Fucking hell, it's the end of December.

I actually live in Calgary. It's been seasonally normal here. That's why I'm so surprised with the weather in Toronto. Between 0 and -15 most of the time here. I agree with you though -- Christmas without snow sucks. I grew up in Vancouver... Almost every year was rain.
