I love how the folks who "don't care about the game" care enough to antagonize in every thread.
It's beautiful to seeI love how the folks who "don't care about the game" care enough to antagonize in every thread.
Art imitates life. How horrible of them to make a trans character and give them the most freakish design in the group.
This is my meme of the day, I need to log off now till launch content. lol.
I don't know...even if it's true...lots of things have an agenda...books movies etc. ... like the book We Children from Zoo Station against the drugs or the manga/ TV serie He's Expecting a pro life / anti abortion plot...I don’t think that most people care that there is a non binary character.
I think people are pissed because the only reason this character exists is to promote an agenda.
The developers of this game made an intentional decision to use this franchise to promote their utopian societal, political agenda.
We want to play fun games that is all. We don’t want this messaging or any other messaging in our games.
I avoid posting in official DA:V topic, coz guessed there should be mostly ppl who playing it only, other than that, yup, i will post a lot in all other DA:V threads as a big fan of the series and western rpg genre, i care about the game deeply even tho obviously i wont buy/play it, even with big discount.I love how the folks who "don't care about the game" care enough to antagonize in every thread.
Thats how those devs really feel, deep downHow horrible of them to make a trans character and give them the most freakish design in the group.
This whole sequence lmfao
So... You're saying the game is not diverse enough? They couldn't throw an English accent in there to make at least a bit interesting? lol maybe Australian?![]()

Can you kill this character? They actually made a character who's entire identity and personality revolves around their gender.
Can you kill this character?
The absolute state of role-playing.No, but you can agree with everything they say in 4 different ways, the choice is yours.
The problem is that non-binary/trans topics usually isn't a live and let live situation cause they go after children.
They're sexualizing minors and convincing some to castrate themselves. There is no gender affirming care, just castration with no future procreation. It's actually pretty Satanic if you think about it.
Them calling critics 'incels' was/is always a projection. Nobody is fucking them. Nobody on an attractive or good hygiene scale, anyways. So, its official: They hate women. So, those folks can be incels too?
Make me wonder if they call women in this game TERF. We are almost there.
What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
I love how the folks who "don't care about the game" care enough to antagonize in every thread.
No one is doing bottom surgery for minors. There were something like 279 surgeries for minors involving breasts in reported data in 2021 or 22. For perspective there are 73 million people in the U.S. under the age of 18 and to my knowledge only between 100,000-200,000 identify as trans.
I can only assume there was a purge of any one with the cajónes to say "WTF is this?" early on in the process and everyone else was either on board with it or just stuck to their lane in animating or voicing it. I'm sure if you got a survey of the climate at bioware during the making of this game there was ZERO culture of subordinates being able to question 'the process' in any way other than to say in an affirmative tone; "are we doing ENOUGH, should we go further?"What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
brah, I have someone living with me that works at a hospital where this is happening all the time. The pills sterilize minors. It's not all about the surgery to begin with.
What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
Puberty blockers you are referring too, but those are given with parental consent for minors. I like dealing with data not simply anecdotal. Fact is less than half a million of minors identifying as trans out of 73 million does not present a crisis the way certain right-wing social media accounts portray it as for clicks and profit.
What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
Toxic positivity.

Probably because they cared about the series before The Veilguard and feel betrayed or somethingI love how the folks who "don't care about the game" care enough to antagonize in every thread.
You wouldn't want to be labeled a bigoted incel for speaking out, would ya? It's all about "joy."What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
Even if somebody along that chain had a problem with that scene no one would be crazy enough to say anything. Even if you don't agree you don't go against the agenda, you just focus on your job.
It's easy to imagine what the average Bioware employee must feel if you're a NeoGaffer who occasionally also posts on ResetEra. You just know that even the lightest digression against the woke mantra is a permanent ban, it sucks all the fun of participating in discussions if you're not part of the hive mind but a freethinker.
"And then everyone clapped"What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
You guys are going to buy this aren't you?..They couldn't throw an English accent in there to make at least a bit interesting? lol maybe Australian?![]()
Yeah, not many folks had lobotomies, either. Science also by crazies backed that up, because it would make money from states doing it to mental patients. How did that work out in the end? That's your opinion. Like I said 100-200,000 minors out of 73 million or specifically I believe it's around 122,000. And 1,390 minors received puberty blockers according to the most recent data from 2021. 4,231 received hormone replacement and 282 had top half surgeries.
Toxic positivity.
It's quite possible people DID push back internally, but the director gets final say. What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
That's what you call living in a bubble. But people being afraid to speak out is also a thing. History has proven as such.I still think that toxic positivity is a way for us to cope with the state of the industry.. the reality may well be a bunch of purple people in their bubbles applauding the scene and then being dumbfounded that it received backlash and the game underperformed... the reality really can be that no one even though it was dog shit
They actually made a character who's entire identity and personality revolves around their gender.
In my experience nobody says anything because they are just there for a paycheck. You have to weight the risk. You have to work with these people everyday and have no equity in the company. Why speak up when you risk pissing someone off and getting let go. Agree with whatever the bosses want to keep them happy and make sure they like you enough to keep you employed. This happens at every major public company. What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?
Why would they? The director of the game is trans. The writer of the game is a dude who has self-labelled himself as a non-binary they/them. I'm sure the studio is littered with personalities that the game is attempting to embody. What is mind boggling is that the pushup scene was written, reviewed , approved, acted , animated, etc by a large group of people. Nobody triggered the alarm?

Dragon Age Veilguard, Non Binary character
I love how the folks who "don't care about the game" care enough to antagonize in every thread.www.neogaf.com
My initial reaction to threads like these is to blow it off as people being intolerant. Looking at the screenshots in the op, I'm not seeing anything that offends me. Which adds to that point.
I'm making this post as Olive Branch to understand. Is it just because someone says their non binary or that someone can be transgender in the game that people find offensive? How is this not just intolerance?
I see a lot of people calling anyone who believes in transgenderism mentally ill. It seems like the same arguments people made against gay people a while back which, is another data point pointing my radar towards intolerance.
Could someone explain to me the issue people have with OP, and how it's not just intolerance?
Personally I'm far from feeling offended. I'm being amused by all these clips. It's sooooooo poorly written it almost feels like it was made with the sole purpose of making fun of the topic. I think that's how most people feel. We have non binary, transgender characters in other games and people have ignored it because the character and writing made sense. My initial reaction to threads like these is to blow it off as people being intolerant.
