brah, I have someone living with me that works at a hospital where this is happening all the time. The pills sterilize minors. It's not all about the surgery to begin with.
I can only assume there was a purge of any one with the cajónes to say "WTF is this?" early on in the process and everyone else was either on board with it or just stuck to their lane in animating or voicing it. I'm sure if you got a survey of the climate at bioware during the making of this game there was ZERO culture of subordinates being able to question 'the process' in any way other than to say in an affirmative tone; "are we doing ENOUGH, should we go further?"
Probably true for lots of games, really. The worker bees just want to get their work done and if anything, leadership that is TOO wishy-washy and keeps changing things is worse than plowing ahead in a bad direction. And a game like this, it's probably almost impossible for anyone to really keep track of all the side stories and dialogue variations so just a few people could steer it however they wanted.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall as these scenes were sculpted and then fed to the actors/animators. Who knows, maybe there are WORSE scenes that got cut? A tell-all book on this game could be a fun read.
Puberty blockers you are referring too, but those are given with parental consent for minors. I like dealing with data not simply anecdotal. Fact is less than half a million of minors identifying as trans out of 73 million does not present a crisis the way certain right-wing social media accounts portray it as for clicks and profit.

Any child who has a surgery to remove perfectly working organs is being hurt and will suffer more as time goes on in their lives. We have studies on JSTOR European nations and Australia have also done studies and puberty blockers, surgery has provided no help. The only thing it does is cause more harm on the mental health as they age and want to be normal and have children of their own. The child has no idea mentally what they are trying to sign up for and do not realize the problems of being on cancer medications, medications for life after surgeries for the pain and they do not work like the original organ.

In my experience nobody says anything because they are just there for a paycheck. You have to weight the risk. You have to work with these people everyday and have no equity in the company. Why speak up when you risk pissing someone off and getting let go. Agree with whatever the bosses want to keep them happy and make sure they like you enough to keep you employed. This happens at every major public company.

Why would they? The director of the game is trans. The writer of the game is a dude who has self-labelled himself as a non-binary they/them. I'm sure the studio is littered with personalities that the game is attempting to embody.

My initial reaction to threads like these is to blow it off as people being intolerant. Looking at the screenshots in the op, I'm not seeing anything that offends me. Which adds to that point.
I'm making this post as Olive Branch to understand. Is it just because someone says their non binary or that someone can be transgender in the game that people find offensive? How is this not just intolerance?
I see a lot of people calling anyone who believes in transgenderism mentally ill. It seems like the same arguments people made against gay people a while back which, is another data point pointing my radar towards intolerance.
Could someone explain to me the issue people have with OP, and how it's not just intolerance?

Personally I'm far from feeling offended. I'm being amused by all these clips. It's sooooooo poorly written it almost feels like it was made with the sole purpose of making fun of the topic. I think that's how most people feel. We have non binary, transgender characters in other games and people have ignored it because the character and writing made sense.
