Elder Scrolls Online finally introduces dual classes (ESO Direct April 10th 2025)

For the few of us ESO fans on here, huge changes are coming. The biggest announced so far (and what fans wanted) is that we will finally be able to mix and match classes with a new dual class system.

Dragonknight Sorcerer? Necromancer Nightblade?

Now possible and unlocks once any character hits 50. Keep in mind your main class remains the same, and only your secondary class can be changed at any time (similar to Guild Wars). You can mix and match whenever and however you want, over 3,000 skill combos according to the dev.

Other highlights:

  • Huge graphical updates (especially the starting continents and zones of the original game)
  • New Areas: Solstice and Sunport (Argonian/Elf land)
  • Worm Cult story expansion building upon version 1.0's story surrounding Molag Bal, being touted as a direct sequel to the original story
  • New dungeons and trials (including new 10-man versions)
  • Colossal Magic Wall (Huge server-wide in game event that everyone can participate in)
  • A newer, more involved tutorial and 'welcome back' system for returning players
They still have more to come, including highly requested changes to the combat feel and animations.

It's the exciting return of...

Just got done watching this, and has me excited to get back into this game. Don't know where to start anymore so I guess I will reroll and begin my questing from base game on! Now what storyline in the base game was the best?

I was always a fan of the Daggerfall and Ebonhart starting choices. Aldmeri is good too but not as good as those two imo.

Which classes are you thinking of mixing together?

No idea but I've always loved the idea of a spell sword. Cast some Mage from range and when they get close use daggers or swords to finish them off

Sounds like Sorcerer Nightblade.

Maybe start with a primary Sorcerer with 2H sword or sword and shield, and then by the time you get your character to level 50 for this update (which comes out in June) you can go Nightblade secondary, or switch to Dragonknight secondary if you need to feel more tanky.
