EDIT: For those already with the game. The deal is you get 30% off the asking price for each game in the trilogy you already own. Knowing this now means that this thread if it stays open will be for folks to gift the trilogy to those who still need it.

Deponia is one of the most hilarious and well made point and click adventure series I've ever gotten to play. Its made by the current day masters of the genre DAEDALIC Entertainment who made things like "The Whispered World" and "The Night of the Rabbit".

Normally its $39.99 for all three but they are running a promotion and its a Steal...90% off and only costs $3.99 till Sep 8th!

Play as Rufus...a complete egotistical asshole living and mooching off his girlfriend who hates him. Rufus lives on the garbage filled world of Deponia and hates it and everything in it. He seeks to escape to the floating city of Elysium. Rufus is known to create utter chaos where ever he goes. Since anyone has known him he's caused explosions, fires, injuries...you name it.

and now he finds a beautiful Elysian named Goal who he wants to run away with that has a computer chip in her brain that's damgaged (often by Rufus) who is being pursued by The Organon...the Elysium military.

Join Rufus across a trilogy where more often than not the hero fucks over everyone and everything in his path to try and escape. Will he get the girl? Will he become a better person? Or will everything be destroyed in the wake of his chaotic adventure?

Welp...this thread either turns into gifting and a name change or gets locked then after discovering this bizarre sale. I've never heard of anything like this promo before.

I don't get what people find weird about it. Many games have done similar promos before. Guacamelee just launched with one, Metro games this week even.

guacamelee have offer like this
for Gold edition owners , they get 67% off for STCE

It's a weird sale, but it is awfully nice of Daedalic to give previous purchasers an inexpensive way to get those bonus goodies. This is something that the monolithic developer Bethesda has yet to grasp with its games. (Just watch the individual prices vs. bundle price during a sale and sigh alongside me.)

The artstyle of these games have always intrigued me but John Walker's review of Goodbye Deponia on RPS was absoulutely vicious and kind of makes me wary of playing them: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/11/11/wot-i-think-goodbye-deponia/

I've lost my appetite for Deponia.

If anyone is looking for an adventure game series with a multi-game storyline, I would recommend the Blackwell games instead. Be sure to play them in order for best effect.

Before anyone asks, the games will certainly reach an impulse-buying price by Christmas time, if not earlier.

Wait the discount ends in September? Guess I should get a few copies and trade them for TF2 Keys after the discount ends :P

Wow, that's a cheap extra copy. I only have access to them via family sharing for now.

The humour is pretty hit or miss in them, but the art and production is above reproach. Top notch for adventure games in that style.

Yeah the Rock Paper Shotgun review is pretty angry for some reason. The game is hilarious and so are all its predecessors. The guy just doesn't like playing an idiot who does terrible things. Its called dark humor and he clearly doesn't get it. Folks often kick Rufus' ass for the shit he pulls in his own self interest and its even a source of character growth for him by the end of the series.

Ignore the Rock Paper Shotgun "thing". It does its best to ignore all the great things and paint whats left as negatively as possible for no reason other than Rufus is not meant to be good at being a good guy.
