Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots - Announcement Trailer (Bandai Namco published) | PS5, Switch and PC

Sony is licensing out a lot of it's IP to bandai. Freedom Wars, Patapon, Everybody's golf. If it gets more Sony AA properties to return I'm all for it.

It was a Sony IP, Sony must have loaned the IP to Bandai Namco for the port/publish. Same with Patapon, very interesting.

It makes sense and I've called something like this being next in line on Sony's multiplatform push for some time, i.e. Japan-centric games getting a day-and-date Switch version as the Playstation brand is pretty much over in that market.

This is actually their second. Clap Hanz Golf came out on Switch too. It was terrible. They've never really been owned by Sony, just worked out that way.

Hot Shots/Everybodys Golf is one of my favorite franchises. Kills me there isn't a proper PS5 powered entry.

This may be fine, looks more in line with the Vita World Invitational game. But it looks pretty stripped down.

If it has traditional mechanics, I'll play it. But it's just a missed opportunity overall.

Everybody's Golf AKA Hot Shots Golf IP is owned by Sony. That's why Clap Hanz couldn't use the name or characters for Clap Hanz Golf or the one they did for Apple TV

This entry is not made by Clap Hanz afaik.

the Everybody's Golf games were developed in cooperation with Japan Studio in the past tho.

I wonder how this game is being developed, and if Sony is completely hads-off here or not.

it would be in Sony's interest that this isn't a complete fail as it's still Sony's IP that can be tarnished here

Some of the female characters look downright terrible, but they want to mirror the original style I guess.

Not an in-game screenshot, but close.

This doesn't look good at all. Will wait to see how they manage the PS5 version but I very sceptical about it.
Fuck!

Sony isn't being stupid here, they know the value of these smaller IPs and they also know how popular the Nintendo switch is and almost certainly it's successor will be in Japan

Let's be honest here. If Sony were to only release these on its system, they wouldn't sell anywhere near as well, the PS5 is nowhere near as popular as the switch is in Japan,

It makes way more sense to license these games out to a 3rd party pub and system which will sell like hotcakes, and appease those of us who are looking for old Ips who own a PlayStation at the same time

Apparently it is literally the Vita/PS3 title known as Everybody's Golf 6/Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational but with a new name. So a Vita remaster, same deal as Freedom Wars.

World Invitational is really good entry in the series (PSP titles are GOAT). I just hope all the mechanics stay in tact. Clap Hanz dumbed down their mechanics for the IOS release (understandable) and Switch release (less understandable).

Is this literally just HD re-master of Vita/PS3 game?

If true, that's probably the best we could have hoped for. I wonder if they'll include all the DLC clubs/balls by default which was a bit of a sour note on the entry as you needed them to compete.

If CH isn't involved, I'm out.

They've been overseeing partners, but really, Clap Hanz has been the developer on every game since HSG 2.

I wish it was but as someone who spent an untold number of hours there, doesn't look like it.

the karma continues...
the ture and honest question is: will there be more Japan studio IP's going retrieved?

Japan Studio only produced the series (and staarting from 5 at that). They were not developers.

The characters line up but I don't think it is a straight port either.

Assuming this is Sakura:
