I ment console videogames only :)

I will also have to try calculating how allready avaible games will impact the sales of upcoming ones.

That doesn't matter. I mean heck, there could be (and often are) hordes of consumers without a GC or Xbox who buy a port of a third party game on the PS2 but that doesn't make it exclusive. A port is a port is a port.

And what about Mario Tennis, Mario Party 6, Silent Hill 4, and Resident Evil 4?

RE4 delay is 99%,Mario Tennis is 2005 according to Nintendo, and Mario Party 6 has only been announce for December Japan release,i doubt it will ship this year in US,it wasnt even officialy announced sofar.

As for first part of your post,PC and consoles are 2 totally different segments, which was proved by various surveys. The point is , console exclusive PC ports will sell tons of consoles.

So a few rumors = 99% chance of a delay? Until Capcom says otherwise, RE4 is still a 2004 game. They aren't the most reliable source but EBGames.com has both Mario Party 6 and Mario Tennis marked down for this year. I'm not surprised you didn't notice them when you made this list because they are listed after the 2005 stuff for some reason.

Dec 6 release for NA... announced at E3... and for reference, Mario Party 5 shipped to NA prior to JPN.

Ebgames,Gamestop,Amazon, thats pretty obvious, especialy with Capcom resisting to give clear answer,i mean you can hope and all,but if i were you i wouldnt.

Ebgames also shows Jade Empire and Kotor2 as 2004,but it doesnt mean they are coming 2004,in fact they arent.

I didn't see such a confirmation. I know that Wedbush made a speculation regarding GTA: SA Xbox sales, but that's a real stretch to use that. A real big stretch. Was there any other reference?

IIRC, Capcom DID give a clear answer about a delay when the shipment date on EBgames.com first changed. They stated unequivocally that it was still due to ship this year.

And you are still missing Silent Hill 4. It ships in September.

Where did you get these lists?

I was gonna make my "to buy" list but alot of PS2 games seem to be missing.

Astro Boy
Katamary Damacii
Taiko Drum Master
Ghost Hunter

Huh? They stated "We allways said Winter 2004" or something, how is that this year,Matt said this year not Capcom.

Anyway i dont remember a single case when all 3 sites put up same wrong date.

Yeah, that cuts the Xbox list in half. Take out M$ & Ubi and you're not left with much at all.

In addition to RE4 you're missing Geist, Killer7, Amazing Island, Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life 2...

Good job though; I've never seen someone troll a university research paper before.

There arent any details on release,IGN date is just provisoric.

As for retail, again not just one site, but all three,at once.
Feel free to set your self up for a disapointment

IGN isn't the only site saying Dec 6... I can't imagine why multiple retail sites saying something (when they usually leech info like this from each other anyway) is good enough for you yet this isn't. Edit: EBgames list mario party 6 for Dec 6 as well.

PS Sonic Mega Collection coming to PS2 this fall!!!

Which ones are forgettable though? I'd say the majority of them work just fine. They aren't some B Grade exclusives.

Even Capcom announced Killer 7 is 2005.

Amazing Island is coming this August, but this is only for Sept-Dec timeframe.

I will eat my report and post pics here if RE4 ships this year, seriously.

Harvest Moon i dont know, they havnt announced US releasedate,i dont think its ships this year in US,especially with all the other games

every news site has Mario Party 6 listed as dec 6 as well as advance.. perhaps they want to launch it together... nintendo has 6 listed as Q4 either way... if nintendo's site isn't good enough then fine.

Damn, PS2 is kicking TONS of ass this fall! There are a ton of incredible games already on that list with a bunch missing!!!

Oh, and he is missing Silent Hill 4 because SH4 is being released on XBOX, PS2, and PC.

console exclusives.

The thread is completely derailed

Then you really should have listed it as so :p

Also, philosophically, we may well be past the point where trying to not count PC games makes very little sense. Since the introductions of the Playstation, PS2, & Xbox, the average age has moved from kiddies to an average age of 29, which puts it in direct competition with the PC games market. I'm not sure everyone knows this, but PC games sell more than any other platform except the PS2 in the US, signficantly ahead of the Xbox, GCN, & GBA. They are also major contributors to the US publishers financial results.

Anyway, the real point is exclusivity. Doom 3 will sell way more on the PC than the Xbox, among several others on your list. So, the fact that Doom 3 is a console exclusive doesn't carry anywhere near the same weight that other big console exclusives would.

The PS2 list is impressive, the XBox list is impressive if you like PC ports, late ports, late PC ports, Blinx, and Splinter Cell. ;)

Look at the sales of popular PC games ports(Ghost Recon,Splinter Cell,Max Payne etc)
There is a huge market for PC ports among console gamers.

Even horrible old ports like Unreal 2 manage to climb 100K.

That GBA list is EXTREMELY appalling. I wouldn't want to even touch more than 5% (if that) of those games...

Ugh, you aren't seriously excited by that list are you?!?!
