We know that the Switch 2 is much closer in power to the big consoles than the Switch was to the PS4/XB1. Combined with the diminishing returns of power gains and the fact that the first Switch was the most successful console ever, I am really curious about the 3P support this generation.

What about Skyrim: Special Edition?

What about Skyrim: Anniversary Edition?

What about Skyrim: ES6 Is Still A Decade Away So Let's Milk It Some More Edition?

Starfield, the game so good its coming twice.

MMC on Switch you say? Take my money. Also a safe bet all this is coming to PS as well then.

Makte an Xbox portable even more dead in the water than it was going to be.

Basically we are going to see a metric ton of ports from Xbox and PS games. Going to be interesting to see how they would sell since decent amount of folks have another console or a PC alongside the Switch.

I think this is great news. Anyone going to double dip?

I don't think I will for any of those since I already have them (except tekken) on console

Mayyyyybe halo down the line post sale depending on quality of port

How are Starfield and Flight Simulator supposed to run on a 1.1Ghz 8 core Cortex A78 when they sometimes struggle to run on a 3.4Ghz 8 core Zen 2? I know the Cortex A78 has superior IPC but it's not nearly enough to offset a 3x gap in CPU clocks.

The most consistent themes I've seen about Switch 2 third party support is:

1. It's a lot easier to port PS5 games to Switch 2 than it was to port PS4 games to Switch
2. MS is going to be the platform's biggest third party

So this lines up with that.

If the sales projections are good enough, they can invest the development time to downgrade this thing to hell and back untill it achieves 30fps most of the time.

I'm being facetious, granted they couldve said flight simulator
Or just cut Microsoft down to MS and Simulator to Sim.

On topic, CoD was obvious because of the court obligation and the fact that they made BO6 crossgen again and released a PS4/One version. Makes ports to Switch 2 much easier now.

No, the power gap with PS5/XSX is about as big.
But it doesn't matter as much this time since games are already optimized for the weaker XSS and Switch 2 will have DLSS.

In terms of GPU power both Switch to Switch 2 and PS4 to PS5 are roughly a x5 jump, plus architectural improvements.

Microsoft could potentially end up being the most successful third party publisher with these released on Switch 2. People will pick up these games as complimentary to their key Nintendo purchases. They have the data on how well Skyrim sold, Doom etc.

Xbox fans for years lamented, and rightfully so, that Microsoft wasn't supporting with enough first-party games their new platform Xbox Series X/S.
Microsoft clearly listened and are ready to give robust support for the next [this is a Xbox] console called Switch 2.

Black Ops 2 on the Wii U was legitimately perfect for playing while laying in bed.

Hopefully they can port 6 without downgrading too much.

What? Nintendo games sell so much because they are classics. MCC is not, particularly not a platform where FPS games barely exist.
When Rob Gilbert (creator of famous point'n click adventure games like Monkey Island) ported Thimbleweed Park, a retro inspired point'n click game, was surprised by how the Switch version, released after the PC/PS4/XBO versions and for a Nintendo platform which are not famous to host point'n click games, quickly became the best selling one (link).
The Switch concept (play anywhere, anytime) and Nintendo's DNA position the platform as ideal for lapsed gamers and for old/classic games.
Not saying Halo MCC will be huge for Switch 2 (if it indeed release there), just that there are no basis to say FPS won't perform well there.

New retro inspired FPS games by indies, big production by Bethesda like Doom 2016, cult FPS like Duke Nukem Remastered and the Crysis trilogy all appeared on Switch.

Fallout 4 is random.
Nah, they want to capitalize on the show. That and they recently worked on it to update for current gen, guess they made this at the same time.

Hope we're getting these games for Playstation too.
