The documents from Microsoft's acquisition also referenced an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster. An official announcement for that release seems imminent, as screenshots have already leaked. On the other hand, the Fallout 3 project remains in limbo, according to NateTheHate's X post. Responding to a question from an anxious gamer, the insider said, "It'll be a while before we see it."

Fallout 3 debuted in 2008 as an action RPG with an engaging narrative set in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. It achieved several milestones for the series, including the first title to offer 3D visuals. While Fallout 4 followed with critical acclaim, fans still appreciate the game's significance.

Despite attracting nostalgic feelings, some gamers would like to see popular mods used in a Fallout 3 remaster. Targeting enemies with precision can be challenging, especially with a controller. The UI is also difficult to read on modern displays without tweaks. Of course,

Modded Fallout 3 is still way better and aged better than modded Oblivion so I'm cool with some wait. I could still have tons of fun going back to my modded Fallout 3 even after over 2,000 hours on it already.

But a Fallout 3 remake would be totally awesome when it comes. Although Fallout New Vegas would probably benefit more from a Remake since there's a war going on and a new updated engine and game could really show larger battles. Plus the original NV was rushed and didn't have enough time to truly do what they wanted.

I thought this was official information from Bethesda due to the title. That aside, I didn't have any problems with the UI or using a controller. Hopefully, there will eventually be a remaster. I have mixed feelings on a remake since I loved the original game and just want a way to play it on current consoles (that doesn't involve streaming). Remakes can be great, of course, but I just want the original game in my library.

I kind of expect a remake of F:NV before F3.
Yeah NV getting the remake treatment would be more fitting. In Fallout 3 things are suppose to be isolated with only a few big settlements like Rivet City, Tenpenny Tower. Supermutants may have the numbers but lorewise they're scattered all around mostly in the DC ruins.

Enclave don't usually launch huge attacks and I thought Fallout 3 should have actually have less of them but make them much tougher than what they were to fit in with the lore because they're suppose to have the most advance power armor and weapons.

Fallout New Vegas would benefit as a much more populated place with giant military camps such as Camp Mccarren, the Legion Fort etc. Making Freeside much bigger and populated and especially the Strip made in all it's glory.

Imagine buying Zenimax and then having Obsidian put out an Avowed as well as an Outer Worlds sequel over the next five years, while not having ANYTHING to show in regards to a traditional Fallout game.

Agreed a new Fallout game would have been many times better than all those combined.

Still hoping they're secretly working on a new Fallout game or a NV Remake all this time before doing some shadowly ninjaish drop like the Oblivion remake.

Imagine suddenly getting a Fallout New Vegas Remake next year or the year after while at the same time a Fallout 3 remake also shadow drops around the same time by a different company.

Fallout 3 looks really good using Xbox's backwards compatibility. By comparison 360 version of New Vegas looks and runs like shit and that game desperately needs some upgrades.

Hilarious to see people begging for remakes in line with TV shows after giving properties like TLOU such a hard time...

Again, it's clear why people do the things they do.

TBH the game was super mid, probably my least favourite Fallout game, and I finished all of them (didn't play F76).

F: NV
F1 & F2
F4
F3
