Fighting Games Weekly | October 22-28 | Back to your regularly scheduled programming

Smash at Evo would be ugly. You'd see folks try to boo the game out of existance and troll it to death.

No you wouldn't. Not if the crowds for Melee and Brawl were any indication. Hype is hype, after all, and you could hear enough of it during Brawl's year as a stage game.

KOF has really died off in numbers after Evo. It's hype, but only a few folks are sticking with it.

I think Evo should have more smaller games with only the finals streamed- KOF, Skullgirls and VF would be great choices for side tournies with the finals streamed.

I'd be cool with this. I don't think most of the internet nerdragers would have the guts to boo Smash Bros at Evo in person.

Taking suggestions for next week's thread title. I'm sure there's some 8.95/CC joke in there somewhere.

Also, any big events next week outside of Youmacon and MLG?

The weekly GGPO Vampire Savior VamBat starts in 5 minutes! Streamed by Rotanibor. Will Dyne increase his win streak? Come watch at http://www.twitch.tv/Rotanibor and if you want to enter, join the Vampire Savior lobby on GGPO and ask Korey to sign you up!

Had nearly forgotten about this, got there the moment Korey was asking for last calls for entrants. I actually really enjoyed myself ... but really felt like I had a LOT more to learn about the ins and outs of the game. I still cannot pushblock to save myself and spectating some other matches during the tournament definitely opened my eyes up. Went 1-2 throughout the tournament and am definitely looking forward to next week's Vambat.

Current Sasquatch main looking to transition to BB Hood~

Edit : Sorry for ducking out on our Vampire matches Solar, Im messing around with a new router and was having some issues.

High level Melee is amazing to watch. I started training a bit this past weekend (I used to play a lot many years ago up until I was, I dunno, 14 years old, but I never did any advanced stuff) and doing a simple SHFFLed attack is still hard for me. I am also able to moonwalk off edges with C. Falcon... maybe one time out of thirty, heh. So knowing just how hard it is to do these stuff makes it all the more interesting to watch high level play.
Game is freaking great, and I am really hoping that the online projects turn out well, because I would really like to play this game competitively.

Seeing Melee rank up so high in that poll makes me really hopeful that the game will appear at EVO 2013.

EDIT: Also, just saw this and it looks awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD9-8BCLkjk#t=1m30s
