Velux Studio is a new Japanese game developer that was established in May this year, according to a press release by the company published on October 28. The studio’s CEO is Sho Igarashi, who has a track record as a lead game designer and development manager at FromSoftware, Square Enix, Cygames and Luminous Productions.

As far as we have been able to confirm, Igarashi has been credited as game designer on titles such as Bloodborne and Final Fantasy XVI, and according to the press release, his expertise lies in battle production.

His new company, Velux Studio, will develop a wide range of games, from casual to high-end, with PC, consoles and mobile platforms in mind. The company’s goal is to “make games for game lovers,” and it will handle all aspects of game development in-house using Unreal Engine 5.

Igarashi hopes to create unique games using the knowledge and experience he has accumulated in his career so far. Velux Studio has launched an official website and X account.

For anyone who likes to check Mobygames for credits: he is credited as "Shou" Igarashi not "Sho" Igarashi except for the Bloodborne credit which is listed under "Sho" Igarashi 😵‍💫

Video game credits need some standardization, Moby is great, but volunteers can only do so much.
