FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa Corporation, recently confirmed that they have 26 games actively in development.

According to a report by GameWatch (via Automaton), Kadokawa Corporation confirmed these games during their latest earnings report. Out of the 26 titles, 20 are being developed for consoles, and the other six are being created for mobile. FromSoftware, Spike Chunsoft, Gotcha Gotcha Games, Acquire, VIC GAME STUDIOS, and more will develop these games. Acquire from the Tenchu series was acquired by Kadokawa in December 2023.

FromSoftware has several anticipated games on the horizon. Popular franchises like Armored Core and Dark Souls already have multiple instalments, so fans can expect new entries in these series. Additionally, FromSoftware may develop new sequels for titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring. Moreover, there is a possibility of receiving remasters or remakes of some of their classic games.

What time is it?
Why didn't Insider Gaming just say Kadowaka instead of "From Software's parent company"?
The majority of these should be from Kadokawa Games, and expect a lot of VNs and small JRPGs there.

No, it isn't. It's Kadowaka as a whole, not just From Software.

Maybe Switch 2 ports as well.

As far as i know, Kadokawa owns like half the Anime/Manga industry, could be lots and lots of tie in / mobile games for popular properties.

Think he meant 2-6 games in active development and he misinterpreted it as 26.
Check the source of the article - https://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1637630.html. There's no mistake there.

The company plans to continue expanding its game development pipeline, with 20 console titles and 6 mobile titles, a total of 26 titles, currently in development across the group. It was revealed that the KADOKAWA Group will be able to consistently release new games. We can look forward to information on upcoming new titles from FromSoftware, Spike Chunsoft, Gotcha Gotcha Games, Acquire, VIC GAME STUDIOS, and others.

The most interesting thing from this is Acquire has been acquired (huh) by Kadokawa.

I know Tenchu was already held by From Software, but considering that From Soft doesn't seem to focus on stealth games, prefering Sekiro, I wonder if they might give Tenchu to the original developers Acquire.

Anyway, Acquire also have Shinobido and being a part of Kadokawa may give them more budget for more ambitious games, or at least what could be a sufficient budget to new Ninja Stealth games, the genre being perfect for a AA game.

I think Sekiro started as a Tenchu game originally. While I'd absolutely love a Sekiro 2, From doing a new Tenchu game would be amazing. A reboot/remake of the first game would be cool as fuck.

Yep I know that, but From made Sekiro so they are seemingly not interested in making a true Tenchu stealth game. With Acquire and From being united under Kadokawa, it would be great to see a collaboration.
