I'll start by saying i don't have a good feeling about Avowed, i think it'll be rated decently but i'm worried about the real consumer's opinion after they play it.
But he compares Avowed's director to Todd Howard judging by a wikipedia page, but if you try and search who was the "director" or the boss on Morrowind, it appears it was already Todd, and i guess it'll be the same case on the previous game too, so it's not like he had worked on a lot of projects before becoming the game director.
Also about jank, no clue what this guy works on, but yes, i always expect WRPG's that are either really big or got some decision making to have that stuff, Skyrim, Cyberpunk, BG3, Wasteland 3, Kingdom Come 1-2, none of these are free of jank, and it's fine, these all are great experiences, if Avowed is close to any of these games even with it's jank, then thank god.
Oh and he talks about Obsidian as if it was some Ubisoft like company that was just worried about hiring diversity and failing projects, and even if i'd rather them just focusing on making big AAA games, we gotta admit they've been succesful lately, be it with games that sold very well and were liked like Grounded, others that were niche but were pretty good like Pentiment, others that sold well and were at least decent like The Outer Worlds... and they got 2 more projects for this year.
