Thank you! But I'm not done yet, I'll add more things and improve on the rest today or maybe tomorrow, I just tought that it'll be fine for now and it's 2 days the game is out already.Agent_4Seven Yet another banger OT from your my man!
Banger OT.
Yeah, there's definitely some VC vibes in the game for sure and I love it just like I love traditional VC games.Gameplay wise it reminds me a lot of Valkyria Chronicles.
Yeah im in europe and donwnloaded the Darkwinter client so been playing this since 3rd December. Disappointed to see this game has the same terrible drop rates as hoyoverse games (0.6%) but i got lucky in the beginner banner and already got Qiongjiu. Now trying to get Suomi from the limited banner. This OT was on Europe time lol
I've been playing on Darkwinter for a few days and it's fun. The game is literally XCOM with waifus
You might say it's ... "XCOOM"
YEAAAAAAHHHHH
As someone who never played the original game, I have no idea what's going on with the story at all but I'm enjoying the whole Command and Conquer living out in the Tiberium contaminated wasteland vibe all the same
I think I still have some GFL2 gifs that I've made over a year ago, as the game has been out on the TW server for quite a long time. Can't wait to learn more about all those characters in the boobs and asses threads.
Your efforts are more than welcome and your contributions invaluable.I think I still have some GFL2 gifs that I've made over a year ago, as the game has been out on the TW server for quite a long time.
I'm actually going to find them and repost them there.
The trick is to wait for these games to hit EoS and sometimes they release a downloadable/offline version of the game with the gacha elements removedIf only they make it not online and single player...
What i always do when i start a new gacha is just be aware what is the premium currency and the gacha tickets. Everething else i ignore cuz when its time to level up a character or weapon, etc you can see what currency it asks.Game is good. Played through the first chapter today. Looks good, satisfying gameplay, good music, a lot going on.
I'm not really used to these kind of games so it dumps a TON of items/currencies/menus on you with barely any explanation. There's like six different currencies, I think? No idea what's going on with any of those or what I'm supposed to do with those.
Nemesis
Considering that GFL1 (8 years old and counting!) is still operating today, your chances of getting an offline version of GFL2 are basically none in your natural lifetimeThe trick is to wait for these games to hit EoS and sometimes they release a downloadable/offline version of the game with the gacha elements removed
I haven't played much yet, but the story wasn't meant to be difficult and there's hard versions of missions you can replay later. I think the meat of this game in terms of gameplay will be in the endgame and in combat outside of the story, or maybe later story missions are hard as balls. The gameplay seems kind of basic?
They don't have Atlus's budget ma dude. The visual novel part seems really cheaply done. As in they will talk about things without any visual representation of what they are talking about, there isn't much in the way of different poses or anything for the characters, effects are pretty much non-existent, etc.
Maybe... but I prefer 2D illustrations. There's also a lot more work when it comes to 3D models and animations. Even ZZZ don't have a lot of variation in this department in case you didn't knowI feel like they would've been better off using the 3d models that already exist and look better than the 2D portraits?
I'm sure it will be harder. I mean basic in terms of systems, like the lack of any accuracy mechanic.I haven't played much yet, but the story wasn't meant to be difficult and there's hard versions of missions you can replay later. I mean, there's animations there, but sure, they're not so complicated and stuff. I don't have problems with this tbh. Have you played Ash Echoes? God, I wish that game had the same gameplay instead of real-time BS they gone for instead. The animation work there is also pretty basic and even more so than in GF2, but the world, the lore and stuff is really good. Not sure why you would need Atlus budget? Visual novels made by smaller companies that would only sell 50k~100k copies, if they are lucky, had far more going on. Even compared to other gacha games ie Heaven Burns Red, the visual novel aspect is pretty barebones. Maybe that is a Chinese vs Japanese thing though.
Well, maybe they'll improve some stuff going forward, like WuWa did, we'll see.3D models can take work sure, but they are already in the game and already have plenty of animations. Just look at the default home screen. You have multiple girls fully modeled walking around with numerous animations.
I'm not gonna say the game is trash or anything though, just things I noticed.
Game has deep combat and tactical mechanics (no accuracy system), but so far i completed chapter 3 and i can just let the game play in auto mode. The gameplay seems kind of basic? Like there doesn't seem to be any attack accuracy or anything. Maybe I'm wrong here. It's obviously very early game so maybe it gets more interesting.
Well, it'll give you currency with which you can buy stuff for more pulls. I only like Groza outfit, but there's no way I'll be spending money on outfits instead of getting characters, that's a red line for me.What does the montly sub even get you? I'm still super confused at the 100 different currencies and upgrade items and shit.
I don't mind supporting this game for a bit because I'm having a lot of fun but I have literally no idea if that sub is a good deal. On the other hand, dropping 15 bucks on an outfit is kind of the other end of the spectrum for me.
How deep down the rabbit hole do you want to go on this? What does the montly sub even get you? I'm still super confused at the 100 different currencies and upgrade items and shit.

It has cross-progression, make sure you bind your account to the publisher using your email address (Sunborn/Haoplay) and not to Google or AppleOh this is like anime xcom with girls ? Never heard of this series.
Might give this a try, and since this looks more or less turn based/menu based, I may try it on my phone first. Does this have cross progression? Like, can I move to PC later down the line if I want, and keep my progress?
I always wonder WTF those W-Engines even are and how can you logically explain them. Like you mentioned, it's always very clear what weapon attachments are, what they do and you can see them in GF2, but WTF W-Engines are and how are they even related to the characters, what they do with them etc.? I mean, you can at least explain or maybe guess how you slot it in when it comes to Billy and Qingyi cuz they're not humans or tirens, but what about the rest of the cast? Anyway, maybe I'm thinking too much herefor ZZZ players its the equivalent of the W-Engine with disks but instead of being hidden in a menu its something you can always see in battle.
I'm trying all characters for now to see how they play and which ones I like more. Sabrina can wipe out groups of enemies with one AOE attack which is insane, but that's in the story mode so maybe it's not as easy outside of it. Currently pulling for Ullrid cuz she's absolutely insane in combat, Suomi also great but I'll pull for her later if I'll have enough tickets for her.Which squad are you guys running? I'm doing Suomi/Krolic/Nemesis/Peritya. Nice balance of range and AoE, Suomi is ridiculously overpowered.
Damn, didn't think GAF would get a thread for a niche gacha like this.
The game is fucking fantastic. The gameplay, the story *chef's kiss*, dialogue, upgrade system, in depth-weapon parts and skins, cute t-dolls. I'm super impressed. That first event story had me legitimately nail biting to see how it was going to pan out.
Something I noticed in the new player survey:
We still got it, GAF.
Which squad are you guys running? I'm doing Suomi/Krolic/Nemesis/Peritya. Nice balance of range and AoE, Suomi is ridiculously overpowered.
It looks like they'll release it on Steam later (no info on whether it'll be compatible with their own launcher and servers). No ATA at the moment. What is this then?
What is this then?
Their worldwide publishing is a confusing mess. Some of the regions are being published by the devs, the other regions are published by "Haoplay". Depending where you live, you can only play one version and the accounts/progression isn't synced across those servers. What is this then?
I dunno if they really look at GAF or not, it was probably just on a list of old survey examples that they copied from. I think Genshin Impact had a GAF example on one of their early surveys too.I like how they call out Reddit and GAF but leave out a certain purple insane forum which would hate this game anyways because it has attractive anime girls
Qiongjiu/Sharkry/Groza/Suomi - the amount of cover fire you get from this team is fucking insane since QJ and Suomi both provide support fire when another unit attacks and Groza provides reactive fire when one of your units is attacked during the enemy turn. This effect stacks: so when Groza returns fire, QJ pops up and supports even on reactive fire. If Sharkry or Groza fire on a target, and both Suomi and QJ are in range, they will both fire first before Sharkry or Groza fires, this results in hilarious situations where QJ has already killed the target before the unit you ordered to fire on it has even begun shooting but don't worry, they'll all keep shooting it anyways "STOP! STOP! HE'S ALREADY DEAD!!"
Today's reminder that Suomi is into serious death metal, players of GFL1 already know this but you can also find out by reading her Affinity 2 cutscene in GFL2

My team is now Suomi, Tololo, Qiongjiu and Groza. And yeah, having Suomi in a team is playing in easy mode.We still got it, GAF.

Yeah, but for the PC client thers no need to use VPN. They have 2 oficial websites, one has the link to download the darkwinter client, the other the haoplay client. Im in europe and could not play day 3 cuz in haoplay the game released 2 days later, so i found the darkwinter site and was able to download the client there without VPN and start playing right away.Their worldwide publishing is a confusing mess. Darkwinter (North America, Australia, SEA and Africa)
HAOPLAY (South America, Europe, Japan, Korea, and remaining parts of SEA\*)
I even saw a weird map that a few random South American countries were Darkwinter while the rest were Haoplay. It's really kinda stupid, but I'm guessing it was necessary for some reason. VPN tricks probably work if you download the standalone client from the official website and then pick a US IP address.
Steam version will be the "Darkwinter" version of the game, I believe. Not sure if there's a Haoplay Steam version in those regions or not.
Nope, gotta roll the gacha for her and most future characters. That's the monetization model. Can I not just straight up buy a character like Suomi or am I blind?
This country map is the greatest meme in history, but I'm impressed that they finally built that wall between the US and MexicoYeah, but for the PC client thers no need to use VPN. And yeah its a mess, im guessing they did this do deal with different country currencies?
Not with real money. You use the orange tickets and the cubes to pull on her banner like Pejo said, just a correction, in this game the soft pitty starts at the pull 58.Can I not just straight up buy a character like Suomi or am I blind?
I find it funy that even in Europe its all over the place, like Ireland is on one server and Northern Ireland is in another one. This country map is the greatest meme in history, but I'm impressed that they finally built that wall between the US and Mexico
Cool, didnt knew that about Sabrina, since i already got Tololo and Qiongjiu i was planning to pull Sabrina in the pickup thing in case i didnt got her untill then. Guess i can grab someone else then. Also I just found out that you can get Peritya (catgirl 5*) and Sabrina (shotgun big tiddie 5*) for free just by playing the game.
Peritya is available in the dispatch gacha. You get up to 4 coins per week for letting your team do dispatch jobs (idle mode, you just set it and pick up rewards later), and you use those coins to do a gacha, with Peritya as the "premium" reward. You can get all of her copies this way too, so you can eventually fully max her.
Sabrina is available in the weekly boss mode. I haven't unlocked this yet so I'm unsure what you do other than kill a boss (that presumably updates every week). You can supposedly max her out with multiple copies this way too.
I just unlocked the mode after my post. So it looks like her pieces are 400 of the boss mode currency for 5, but there's only 3 to purchase per month(?) So you can get 15 pieces every month in the shop itself, it takes 30 to unlock the character, so two months? I was able to get 300 currency from beating the boss at the lowest level and auto-ing the last two attempts. There was no way I was going to beat the next tier at lv 26 or 27, whatever I currently am. I'm not sure if you get more currency if you beat higher levels, but I imagine you would. Even if not, if you can beat the lowest level boss 3x a week that's 1200 currency a month which is exactly enough to buy all of Sabrina's pieces.Cool, didnt knew that about Sabrina, since i already got Tololo and Qiongjiu i was planning to pull Sabrina in the pickup thing in case i didnt got her untill then.
